Very rural hotel. Bed can be improved. No AC this need to open window and mosquitoes came in. Dining option is little to nil. The menu has many items but they only have what they suggested - pork ribs (fried) and a turkey dish. Maybe because we were the only guest there?

It was in a quiet environment, relaxed atmosphere without noisy guests disrupting the solititude. Perfect for a reviver stay before going onto more heavy touring. It has two pools and a great outside area. Inside parking. There are two lounge areas to relax in . Check in and out was a breeze, and breakfast has the best scrambled eggs we tasted in a long while. Bruno was very accommodating even with our very late arrival. If you don’t have your own WiFi then just be prepared for a very slow service.

Stayed only one night on 1/05 at this hotel. And because of the public holiday everything was empty, restaurants were closed and almost nobody was around. It was nice to visit old mining area, really impressed us. For the rest there is nothing to do at all. Stuff (I saw only 2 persons) doesn't speak English. Pity, they decided that it's better not to speak to me at all. It felt weird, like I was talking to myself and other person just nod her head if needed. I would prefer her to speak Portuguese. The room we booked was clean but quite dark. Double bed is 160cm wide. The sign at the entrance says it 4* hotel, but they provide no soap, which I find very inconvenient. We tried swimming pools and both of them had really cold water even after the whole day on the sun, so no swimming. The gym room is small and looked like it's never used - everything was plugged out of the sockets and dust was everywhere. Breakfast was good, but no warm food like eggs.

Nice, friendly accommodating hotel in Alentejo.
Very accommodating. We showed up late and they called ahead to have a restaurant stay open for us in the next town. Great jumping off point for anything in the area.

Super Hotel
Although the sorrounding area/location was poor and all that was missing was tumble weed and a man playing the harmonica, I was more than impressed with the hotel, Bruno the receptionist, also later on turned into the barman, pool boy, and waiter in the restaurant and turned out to be the chef aswell.. he is amazing very freindly very competant, and an ecellent cook, wine was fabulous food was also amazing, and our room eas lovely.. thanks for agoid nights sleep👍

The Staff is very friendly and helpful! The Hotel is super clean and comfortable and great location. The breakfast is amazing too! We loved everything. We definitely would go back here.

Tranquil and lovely hotel far off the besten path.
If you like remote and serene places, stay here! Super comfortable bed, clean, lovely hotel overlooking the mining museum. Huge deck on my room. Very nice breakfast. A super charming but remote hotel.

nice stay
nice stay in rural area, easy to find by gps, mining area with country sites. Parking lot is locked during the night, with parking, wifi worked well even in our room, colder shower but for price can not complain, clean rooms, some reception knows English the other bring a translator but was fun learning portugease, nice pool area. Town shuts down early so get something to eat prior, it is rural which is a great experience! Good breakfast.

This easily found rural village is a sadly defunct mining area, the Iron Pyrites ore now superseded by other sources. The villagers are fearcly determined to survive by converting to tourism, in which they have succeeded admirably. The vibes are around fifty or sixty years ago, the old miners smile and nod as you pass the ancient bar in the village square towards the cafeteria which offers food for six to nine Euros. Within the old mine workings ther is now a classy scientific museum at very low cost, and later in the day, which we unhappily missed, a tour of the higher, but underground,mine shafts and galleries. A marvellous place, where the villagers and staff met you eye to eye with their will to please and be basic and honest.

A quiet stop
After a long trans-Atlantic flight and two busy airports, it was wonderful to leave Lisbon for the country. The setting is in a quiet village; staff was helpful and friendly; dinner was superb! Our room was comfortable and spacious and very clean. Breakfast was continental, with a variety of fresh fruits and breads.The sitting rooms were comfortable and nicely arranged. After a very tiring day of travel, we felt like we had landed in paradise! This was a perfect stop, enroute to the Algarve. We shall definitely visit here again.

Beautiful rural hotel with great facilities
The hotel is stunningly furnished and fitted, in a rural setting and was originally a very grand personal residence. The very efficient young lady who runs the establishment was kind and welcoming. We only had time to spend one night there, but would recommend a longer stay. Our bedroom and bathroom were large and beautifully fitted and we were staying in their cheapest room. Some had private terraces and even suites. The breakfast was included and very adequate for our needs. Altogether it was a delightful experience and very reasonably priced. The only down side was the fact that we had to drive a fair distance to a restaurant for dinner. The hostal was not easily signposted.

such a wonderful place in the middle of nowhere
Ok there is not much to be seen around, but what a great place to stay when you are traveling south. This place is amazing, so clean and comfortable and the people are nice. We also ended up having a great meal at Lousal Gourmet a few meters from the hotel, even if we don't speak Portugese and the server didn't speak English. The quality was fabulous and I must say that my stop over at Lousal will stay on top of my list of great souvenirs from my trip to Portugal.

Luxe au beau milieu de la campagne !
Au milieu des orangers et de forêt, un établissement étonnant par son cadre luxueux, la grande taille des chambres et de la terrasse particulière, hôtel très classe meritant ses *, belle piscine et bon resto, incroyable par son rapport qualite/prix, il aurait mérité plus que la nuit d'étape que nous y avons passé. Bon petit resto sur place, vin local et personnel charmant et attentionné. Une véritable surprise à laquelle on ne s'attendait pas si loin de tout !

Hotel pour famille portugaise
Situé près d'u e ancienne mine, dans un petit village, l'hotel est propre et moderne. Les chambres sont grandes et il y a une belle piscine. Le personnel est gentil, une seul personne parle l'anglais. Le personnel est au minimum et doit accomplir toutes les tâches. La persoone qui fait le blanchiment fait aussi le bar et le service aux tables pour les repas. Courtois mais devrais avoir une formation pour le services; exemple, nous avons demandé une bouteille de vin, elle l'a apporter ouverte, placer sur la table et est repartie avec le bouchon. Selon nous, c'est un hotel pour portugais mais pas encore prêt pour l'international. Le potentiel y est.

charmante halte
Un charmant hôtel au calme. Idéal pour se ressourcer. Accueil particulièrement sympathique on s y sent tout de suite a l aise. La table est tres correcte et le petit déjeuner copieux . Tres jolie piscine qui rend le séjour parfait. A recommander après un séjour à Lisbonne par exemple.

Paisible et chaleur humaine
Heureusement que nous avions un gps en état de marche car très mal indiqué depuis la nationale. Accueil chaleureux, chambres spacieuses et agréables. Repas personnalisé et service proche du client. Visiblement situé dans un l'ancien couvent de la mine voisine.

Peaceful stay
We were too tired to drive to Lisbonne and decided to stop at this hotel. Wonderful and peaceful stay. Very clean - very good breakfast. Incredible staff. Hotel in country so do not expect to find a restaurant ....

Au milieu de nulle part un superbe hotel
Il faut persévérer pour trouver l'hôtel, mais une fois sur place c'est le rêve. Il y a tout pour le grand confort et le personnel est très accueillant. On peut regretter seulement que le hôtes ne parlent exclusivement que le Portugais.

Remote but very clean and nice
The staff did not speak english, it complicated things a little. Very clean, a strong smell of cleaning was actually a little too much. Nice rooms, view and hotel in general. Poolarea was fine and clean too. Breakfast was simple but very typical, alright. The hotel deserves a visit though the area is quite remote.
