Admiral Digby Inn

Admiral Digby Inn

8/10 Good
"We stayed there overnight on a trip to Brier island. Though the hotel is pretty basic, it was very clean, and more than adequate for an overnight stay. I'd happily stay there again if I travel that way."

"The hotel is a beautiful piece of architecture. The staff were professional and very helpful and the room was clean and lovely. Also, the complementary breakfast was fabulous as was dinner. I took a short hike on their wooded exercise trail which was quite nice as well. On the downside, I was disappointed to learn that the pool is only “seasonally heated” and the temperature, according to a man who was wearing a device that read the water temperature, was only 72°F which I believe is about 22 C. Having worked at a hotel with an outdoor pool for several years, I know most people cannot tolerate such a low temperature and the few people I did see jump into the water jumped out just as quickly! It was particularly annoying since they advertise having a heated pool without saying anything about the “seasonal” part. Also, their workout facility was terrible with only some free weights, a fitness ball, no mats and only one piece of fitness equipment with an out of order sign hanging on it! Lastly, the elevator was out of order over our stay which was very inconvenient as many of their guests are older people."

"We can’t say enough about the owners Dave and Katharine. We stayed there one night- next time we will stay longer. The inn was charming and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome! After a long day of driving, they served us onion soup, a wonderful charcuterie and the best homemade butter tarts we have ever tasted. Highly recommend the Harbourview Inn!!!"

"Art and Martha are very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. They’re breakfast is excellent. The only improvement they could make would be to have a convenient charging station for electrical devices."
