Master Bed and Bathroom Suite that is a 10 minute walk to the center of Historic Downtown Nevada City. Private separate entrance and off street parking. Secluded deck overlooking a wooded setting and seasonal creek. Amenities include- refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, television and Wi- Fi. Queen size bed. The house was originally built in 1898 and was completely remodeled about 20 years ago. This bedroom and bathroom suite is in the back of our house. You walk down 15 steps and through a gate on the side of the house and then up 5 more steps to get to the deck in front of the room. Highway 49 is not too far behind our house so you will hear highway noise. It gets very quiet at night. To the left of the deck we have a bird aviary. The room has its own separate heater, air conditioner and fan that you control with a remote control. It’s a mini split system that hangs on the wall….installed new in August 2024.
Our driveway has a downward slope to it. The majority of our guests have no trouble navigating up and down it but if you have a large vehicle you need to be comfortable about backing up the sloping driveway because there may not be enough room to turn around before you go up the driveway. It is an option to park up on the street.
Please no early check in or late check out. Proper cleaning between guests takes time😀. No refunds for weather.it does snow here approximately 2-4 weeks per year.

Cozy stay!

This was a perfect stay for a nice weekend getaway. Great communication with the owners and detailed instructions for checkin. The place is super cozy and the bed is very comfortable. Loved the location too! Had a pleasant walk into town for breakfast. Definitely would book this again:-)

Cozy room

The room was clean and had everything we needed. The location is excellent, just a short walk to town. We had a small issue with the tub drain and Jerry was extremely responsive and had it fixed the same day. Would stay here again!

Was a very easy check in process and exactly as it was publicized on the VRBO website. We needed a place to stay on a long travel home and we were not disappointed with the decision to stop in Nevada City. Very wonderful town and this property was super close to downtown shops and restaurants. Great easy, comfortable stay.

This is a lovely spot...location (even though not far off busy hwy) was quiet at night, room attractive and comfortable, well-appointed. Heater worked well as did Keurig coffeemaker. Communication from owners before arrival was excellent. Very enjoyable.

County Band Invitational weekend

We had a clean, comfortable room with private entrance and surrounded by a beautiful view of their private yard. A pleasant surprise was the Finch aviary. The room was spacious and very comfortable and perfect for our stay. Close to the quaint downtown area too. It’s a bit tricky on the parking, but otherwise great.

Cute place, clean and comfy bed. Hard to get ride shares in Nevada City, but fine if you have a car. Didn't explore downtown, but looked adorable on a pass through.

We were visiting Nevada City for Halloween. This particular property was just a few blocks from the downtown area and many local restaurants. All we needed was a bedroom and bathroom for our stay which this property provided. The room was nice and clean. An extra heater was provided in case the room got cold. There was a nice porch with a bench you could sit on to enjoy the beautiful yard. At night the trees were all lite up which was so beautiful. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. If we visit Nevada City again, we will definitely book this room again.

A Little Noise, A Lot of Comfort

Overall, we were very pleased with the venue and all aspects of checking in and out were very easy. While we didn't actually meet the owners, we could feel the sincere effort they made to make our stay most comfortable. Only negative would be proximty of freeway. However, when inside the room the freeway noise was largely non-existent. Big positive is fact that one can walk to downtown Neavada City in 10 minutes. Wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

Comfy bed, great location

This lovely little place is in a great location for walking to town, grocery store, or even the movie theater. It’s in a quiet, green neighborhood and the porch and yard are private and peaceful. The room is decorated beautifully with local art and posters, and the owners also stock it with guide books and trail maps. The bed is very comfortable and there is a fan, heater and air conditioner. The bathroom is nice and big, but not super private, so probably better for couples who know each other well 😉. We loved our stay here. Jerry and Bev were very friendly and provided little extras that made our stay even easier. The one time we messaged them they answered right away and helped us out, no problem. Definitely would recommend this sweet little hideaway.

2nd stay here

Overall wonderful. Great location with some traffic noise from the freeway across the yard. Some foot traffic noise above us upstairs. Maybe slippers are in order to reduce the noise. Both times we stayed here the bathroom tub has a very slow drain. This time, the towels were rough, just in from hanging outdoors. Soft and cushy is best. We love the lighting in the yard and fairy light projection touch!

This is a very nice property just 1/2 walkable mile to downtown Nevada City. Pros: The bedroom offers a queen-size bed, side tables with lamps, and 2 rocking chairs for seating. The bathroom is roomy with double sinks, plenty of counter space and a tub/shower combo (good water pressure). In the corner of the bathroom (butting up to one of the sink areas) is a mini-fridge with microwave on top and a Keurig coffeemaker on top of the microwave. The owner has also provided a canister of cold water, Keurig coffee inserts, and milk/half & half. There is also a porch off the bedroom (this is access to the room) with a small Setee and table. It looks out over the back yard and in cooler weather would be a great place to sit. Cons: Parking is tight and a little challenging. There is a steep staircase from the driveway down to the porch / room access and then 5 steps up to the porch. We had full-size suitcases and were not able to navigate the steps carrying them -- had to grab essentials and walk them down, leaving our suitcases in the car. There was a closet and hangers to hang things but overall the room is a bit tight as the rocking chairs abut the A/C / cooling fan. Overall -- good location and a good choice for someone who is athletic and traveling light.
