If you bring a dog and take it walking, beware that there are some big menacing dogs behind some inadequate fencing in the area (not talking about the ones right across the street).We stayed in an upstairs unit. "We had a great time at the General Lewis. The accommodation was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and food was delicious. There’s a lovely patio area and a garden behind which was perfect to sit in in the evening with a glass of wine. Highly recommend!"

"A great alternative to overpriced chain hotels. Room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was better than most. I really appreciated the refrigerator with a freezer compartment. A amenity that seems to be disappearing from most chains,a microwave in the room made life easier."

"I stayed in the "queen studio". It was lovely and much larger than I expected. The location was perfect. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to explore historic Lewisburg. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area."

"We stayed in the property at 215. Nice, clean, well furnished place. Lovely view of the mountains from the back porch. A local resident advised us to look for off-street parking and the owner quickly got back to me about where to park. Our only — mild — criticism is the continental breakfast was not restocked during our stay. That may not matter to some, and would have been alright with us, but there aren’t many places to get breakfast in town. (Along those lines, does The Market still make quiches for your guests? If not, you might want to update your website.) We would stay there again and recommend it to others."

"The Eloise is in a stunningly beautiful setting along the Greenbrier River with a fabulous host! Being right on the river offers excellent recreation opportunities including fishing, floating, rafting, and peaceful evenings on the deck. I consider the Greenbrier River the River of my Soul. The water has been running through my veins for 62 years. We’ve been out west for the past 31 years and coming back and staying right on the river at Eloise was a dream come true! The cabin was perfect. Great beds, good AC, nicely stocked kitchen, and a fabulous deck overlooking the river. We couldn’t have asked for a better time in a better place. Thank you, Brent!"
