The Space:
Morning light stretches across the valley as mist lifts from the hills, and the quiet feels deeper at this elevation. It is the kind of place where you linger indoors with a drink, then step outside to breathe in the mountain air.
The cabin is set on a mountain top in Great Cacapon and is designed for couples, families, or small groups who want space to unwind together. Large windows frame the valley below, and the layout encourages shared time while still allowing for privacy when you need it.
Sleeping arrangements
The cabin offers two bedrooms along with a loft sleeping area. The loft includes beds and a sofa bed, providing flexible sleeping options without crowding the main living areas. Fresh bed linens and extra pillows and blankets are provided to keep you comfortable throughout your stay.
Living space
Seating is arranged for conversation, movie nights on the TV, or simply watching the light change across the landscape. WiFi is available for streaming or video calls, with a dedicated workspace located in a separate room with a door.
Kitchen and dining
The kitchen is set up for preparing full meals and everyday cooking, making it easy to stay in on chilly nights. The dining area connects naturally to the living space, creating an open flow for shared meals and relaxed evenings indoors.
Outdoor living
The large deck offers sweeping views across the valley, while the hot tub provides a refreshing retreat after a day of exploring or an afternoon spent indoors. The BBQ grill is available year-round for those who enjoy cooking outdoors regardless of the season.
Comforts and amenities
Bathroom essentials are provided, along with towels and hot water. The cabin is pet-friendly, welcoming dogs to join you during your stay. Self check-in with a lockbox allows for an easy arrival, and free parking is available on the premises. A private entrance adds to the sense of seclusion and independence.
The area
Beyond the cabin, the surrounding region offers year-round appeal. The Great Cacapon River is nearby and known for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing when conditions allow. Berkeley Springs is about a twenty-minute drive and offers restaurants, shops, spas, and a well-known arts scene that draws visitors in every season.
This mountain-top retreat suits guests who appreciate quiet surroundings, expansive views, and the comfort of a cabin that feels especially welcoming when the weather turns cool.
Note
The tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We’ve had the pipes/well inspected and there’s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. We recommend bringing bottled water.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.
