My wife and I brought our youngest son (15) to Elivi, based upon a recommendation from a family member. It is a new 5-star hotel but it has teething problems. The location and amenity is 5-star with 4 beaches that have hotel guest luxury sun-beds. The hotel decided however, to earn extra daily cash by re-selling beds to 3rd party’s and not allowing guests to reserve beds for themselves. (this is notable by the amount of colorful beach towels used by visitors rather than the guests beautiful Elivi charcoal grey towels provided by the hotel). This is simply awful when there are no beds available at 11am in the morning. The cleanliness is not 5-star yet, and we found that we had to ask on average 3 times for something to be done. The breakfast was 5-star so too was the food however it often took 10-15minutes to get served coffee when you took your seat on the veranda. I am sure a couple of years of constructive feedback will resolve these teething problems, but Elivi will definitely have to address the taxi service for its guests as Elivi is situated at a remote part of the island. The taxi drivers charge too much money if for example you wanted a lift to local Resturant’s 1500m from the hotel. (€22!). At an island level, there are no footpaths and we found most taxi drivers drive too fast and overtake on dangerous bends. If they up their service to being asked once, cleaned a bit better, don’t sell the guest sun beds for extra cash and sort out taxis, it would be truly 5*
