Coco Bay & Green Turtle Cay

Coco Bay sits on the western shore of Green Turtle Cay and is the most spectacular location on an already spectacular island. Its shallow, warm, impossibly clear water is home to a resident population of wild green sea turtles — visible from the shore, from the water while snorkeling, and from the elevated porch of The Penthouse. Encounters are an everyday occurrence. Guests watch them surface from above, snorkel alongside them in the shallows, and photograph them from the beach. It is the single most cited highlight in every Lo Key Cottages guest review without exception.Beyond the turtles, the surrounding waters offer stingray flats, swimming pigs, world-class bonefishing, deserted sandbars, and hidden snorkeling spots accessible by a short boat ride. The bay faces west, meaning the sunsets arrive every evening over open water directly in front of the porch — unobstructed, unhurried, and consistently exceptional.New Plymouth, the island's beautifully preserved historic settlement, is a short golf cart ride away — excellent local restaurants, Bahamian charm, and a waterfront that has barely changed in a century. The Atlantic beach is a short ride in the other direction — open ocean surf, wide empty sand, and a completely different coastal character to the sheltered calm of Coco Bay. Two full-service marinas sit close by for guests arriving by boat or looking to charter a vessel. Provisions and groceries are available on the island.

Getting Here

Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) on Great Abaco is the main international gateway to the Abaco chain, served by direct flights from several US cities and frequent connections from Nassau. A road transfer from Marsh Harbour to the Treasure Cay ferry dock takes approximately 45 minutes. Treasure Cay Airport (TCB) is a private and charter facility approximately 10 minutes from the ferry dock — the most direct option for guests travelling by private or charter aircraft. The water taxi from Treasure Cay to Green Turtle Cay runs regularly and takes approximately 20 minutes. JB will provide full arrival details and water taxi schedule upon booking.
