Pros: the house has a private feel with its own dock and backyard bordered by trees. We caught plenty of Smallmouth and other fish (perch? Chub? Fall fish?) off the dock with just lures. We also saw plenty of fish while swimming with masks. The lake was a really nice temperature and we brought our own floats. So hours of floating around in the water was perfect. The fire pit was nice, with a picnic table next to it. A porch on the back of the house overlooked the yard, fire pit and a beautiful view of the water and hills.
The house had plenty of fans and all the windows opened with the sounds of wind and lake water and loons made sleeping nice. There was a downstairs bedroom with a huge view of the lake and an upstairs loft area with three single beds and view of the lake. And a double bed bedroom off the loft with a door for privacy. With all the windows open throughout the house it was nice and cool.
Cons: the water pressure in the shower was weak. If the washing machine was going you'd get a trickle of water from the kitchen sink. The washer and dryer worked but are very old school and loud, so don't run the dryer if someone is trying to sleep in the downstairs bedroom.
The Internet was pretty bad. You could text but phone calls and basic Internet was spotty or non existent.
Overall, it was a really great experience. We wanted privacy, waterfront and enough beds and we got just that. The house was clean and tidy upon entry. The sitting area with the television was cozy as well as the dining room table for eating or board games.
What would have been a nice feature is a canoe or kayak. If you want a homey cabin feel with the basics then this is your place. If you want a luxury home with fine craftsmanship, multiple bathrooms and ultra comfortable beds, this is not your place.
For three teenagers and one mom (me) it was an appropriate rental. The big refrigerator was good too because you need to supply your own cooking and drinking water. There was a good supply of bedding as well, so no need to bring your own.
