Close enough to grinnell college. The fridge was making a lot of noise had tv issue . Staff fixed the issue. No phones in the room to call front desk. Breakfast room was small so since a lot of people staying it was crowded . For the price I paid it is what it is. If you are disabled make sure u don’t get a room in second floor . Because no elevator at this location

Check in took way too long. Normally that wouldn't bother me so much, because sometimes it can't be helped. However, there was only one person ahead of me and it took about 15 minutes to check him in. This was made less tolerable by the incense burning at the front desk which was overwhelming, along with a political news station blaring loudly in the corner of the lobby. The room had a bad smell. We travel with our dog often and have never had the bad experience of being able to tell that other dogs had occupied and likely soiled the room. All in all it was an unpleasant experience.

The place was very run down. The price was great but wish they could fix something. Ceiling in bathroom was ruined, bathroom floor cracked. Light by window was coming off the ceiling. Window was propped with a stick to prevent people from coming in I assume. Pool needed a new paint job on the bottom. Bed was hard. A safe place to sleep but definitely needs a good remodel.

Positive: Staff was very friendly. Negative: Our room smelled like smoke even though it was a no smoking room. There was a bug in one of the beds, a spider in the shower & mildew stains on the bathroom ceiling. We ended up deciding last minute not to stay the second night & just drove home through the night. Will not stay here again.

The room is clean. The front desk staff is very friendly and ready to offer help any time. Breakfast is good, not that many options but solid - I can find everything I need. This hotel feels a safe place to stay. Will stay again.

Property needs some major upkeep- owner was amazing for extension on us leaving a little later- biggest complaint is when we got into our room the smell of dog pee hit me so hard I was physically nauseous. We had to open the window to even be able to sleep- had we not have gotten into town so late we wouldn’t have stayed. Air fresheners were used to try and cover up the smell, but all it did was make it smell like lavender and dog pee. If you want to have a hotel where animals are allowed that is fine, but you need to make sure and deep clean a lot better. If I could ask for a refund, I would.

The pictures are not accurate at all. The pool is in poor shape and the lining is coming off with huge patches at the bottom, my kids refused to swim. The whole place smelled weird and was super muggy inside. The carpet was really gross. The bathrooms and beds were very clean though. Just not accurate for the pictures. I wasn't expecting 5 star with the price but the conditions were well below the standard presented online.
