"Strongly recommend this place to stay for a night if you plan a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We spent three nights at Yellowstone and one night here. This hotel is no doubt the best! You can feel that the staff and management try their best to provide a pleasant experience for their guests. We love the cottage room. The room is spacious with two sinks (inside and outside the bathroom). It also provides outdoor porch to chill. You can park your car outside. Your cottage room. The wifi service is also appreciated (compared to our cabin experience at Yellowstone lake hotel). Don’t forget to visit the hotel lobby. The Mountain View outside the big window is stunning. The breakfast is also the best among all nearby hotels."
"This was our third time staying here so that should say most of it. The only downside to our stay was, on the days that the Lodge received tour buses, the place is a madhouse, especially at breakfast. The breakfast seating area isn’t large enough to accommodate so many guests at once.
The staff do an excellent job of keeping up, but the space and seating is so busy and rushed feeling that enjoying the meal is impossible."
"This was a very frustrating experience. Rented a teepee, which was stated to have wooden decking around. Got there and it was not, there was no bottom in the teepees. Just dirt and weeds, yes weeds with our cots thrown on top.
We left and had to scramble to find other lodging. Contacted the resort with no responding. Do not waste your money"
"Great location and easy walk to the square. We stayed in the room with bunks. The bunk room was a little warm. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would stay here again."
"The stand alone cabin was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The water heater was undersized and we ran out of hot water one evening. The bathroom baseboard heater did not work and the fixtures in the tub/shower we're very loose and I was afraid they were going to break. The bathroom vanity was also very small. The fan on the HVAC would not stay on continuously, which would have helped dampen the noise from the busy main thoroughfare in front of our cabin. Since the bathroom heater was not working, the main HVAC unit was a little undersized and took a little while to get the entire cabin up to temperature.
The free breakfast was so so. The pancakes and waffles were precooked and very cold and the waffles were about the worst I've ever tasted. The juices were iced down with ice in the decanter which watered them down. There was a good variety of cereals and I did appreciate the availability of boiled eggs."
"What a lovely hotel, we enjoyed the nice details like a complimentary s’more by the fire. The location includes a bar, and some food/drink shops on the property. The only complaint I heard from my group was that the pillows were too fluffy/thick per their preference; other than that, pretty nice stay. Friendly staff."
"Everything was good, there’s an indoor and outdoor pool as well as hot tub. It is loud in the middle of the night, they provide earplugs that could be useful."
"When we arrived at out suite all the windows were open, which was odd as it was 27 degrees outside. The unit would only warm to 64 degrees so the front desk attendant brought us a space heater which did help. As the windows were closed a horrible odor began to appear. I went to the front desk the next morning and told them about the odor (which obviously they knew since the windows were up when we arrived), it had to be coming from the septic system. I was told there were no other rooms to switch to and was not offered any type of compensation but they said they would send maintenance. We were out for the day and upon arrival the odor was even stronger. I went back to the front desk and they some how did have an available room. They said it was an "upgrade" but the bathroom felt like is was added onto a back porch. I know things happen but would have been nice for the "family owned" resort to give some type of compensation for the stay. No one wants to vacation in a room that smells like a sewer. Would definitely not go back."
Getting a glimpse into how things were in the past helps puts history into perspective. These buildings provide excellent examples of the way settlers lived.
