Amazing sorroundings!

Loved the hotel, as there are some beautiful areas where we were able to have friends over and enjoy the sorroundings and have service from the bar. Very quiet area so sleeping was great with only nature sounds.

It a nice small hotel 15 minutes from the airport. We always stay here first and last night. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

What a beautiful historic hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. We had a lot of luggage and they all helped with moving it. There is a nice security guard at the door. And we had a very early departure (5:30 am) on our last day so the lady at the desk offered to make us a meal to go since we would miss our free breakfast that day. We received a ham and cheese sandwich, chips and cookies in a sack lunch😋. And the early desk person brewed us coffee too.

One of the cleanest hotels in Latin America. Great breakfast. If youre looking for a boutique stay not provided by absent investors or large foriegn chain, then Hotel Ciudad Vieja is your best option.

Nice surprise & great stay!

I thought the service was excellent. Although prior reviews said it was poor they are a very new resort and they’ve improved their service dramatically. We weren’t traveling with kids, but it is a fantastic place, if you are traveling with kids. Very nice unique themed Nordic resort, comfortable, clean, and cool weather as it’s at an elevation.
They make their own beer and serve it in a horn. :)

This is a beautiful property. We stayed here on our first night in Guatemala and 10 days later for our last night. The first room was adequate and had a non-chain hotel vibe. Very secure. Staff was helpful and forgiving of our minimal Spanish. The second room we stayed in upon returning to Guatemala City was awesome.

This is a hidden gem! It’s small and maybe doesn’t have amenities big hotels have, but, I never use them. This is a beautiful small, homie type of place. Staff is amazing! Location is perfect! Size of rooms perfect! Very colonial feeling. Excellent restaurants right across the street. Small front parking in front, but well guard. Some space available for overnight parking. Might need a little attention on minor repairs and I mean minor ones. But then again, what hotel doesn’t needs it. I love, absolutely love this hotel 👍👍👍👍

Needs a renovation

I used to stay here pre pandemic the place has not been renovated. The rooms are dark, towels are thin, and walls and carpets are stained. The window screens do not keep mosquitoes out. Staff however, is professional and polite.

I stayed here because my dad was in the hospital at Centro Medico, and the hotel is an easy 1/2 km walk to the hospital (though I wouldn’t walk it at night-I used Uber to get back). There’s a lot to like about the hotel: super clean with comfortable rooms, and very quiet. So why not give it 5 stars? There is no easy way to prevent housekeeping from making up your room and changing the towels, and no Do Not Disturb sign. It’s a waste. Twice the housekeeper left my ground floor window wide open when I had left it closed.
