A warm welcome to Hof Eckhorst, to our comfortable holiday apartments in the countryside. Here, at the narrowest point between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, between Schleswig and Eckernförde, between the Schlei and the Hüttener Berge Nature Park. Country charm, country life, country delights, country children, country landmarks, and beloved countryside show just how beautiful life in the countryside can be. The apartments are individually decorated with themes such as the Baltic Sea, sunshine, and romantic Tuscany. Unwind in front of the wood-burning stove or while enjoying a soothing bath under the starry sky in the spacious bathroom. Whether it’s breakfast or sunset, you’ll feel right at home on your own loggia with a breathtaking view of our pastures. You’ll meet other guests in our barn hall or the fragrant wellness area with a sauna and a dream bath for two. Enjoy the summer by the lake or find peace and relaxation on the “Dreamer’s Bench” under the oak tree—listen to the rustling of the leaves, smell the plants, and watch a contented herd of mares. Holiday with your own horse, riding lessons:: Whether you’d like to bring your own horse or ride one of ours—whether for riding lessons or a trail ride through the beautiful countryside—you’re warmly welcome! Our riding facility offers: a 20 x 60-meter indoor arena, a 50 x 80-meter jumping arena, a 20 x 60-meter outdoor dressage arena, 2 lunging circles, a fenced-in galloping track, small cross-country jumps, and a water crossing. We host training courses and regular events.

Our Horse Breeding Programme: At Hof Eckhorst, we love Hanoverian horses. Our year revolves around the horses. In the spring, the pregnant mares foal in the stables, while others are bred by the stallions through natural mating or artificial insemination. The grazing season begins in May, and both the foals and the broodmares spend day and night in their pastures. This is also when our competition season begins. The horses that have been trained over the winter are presented for the first time at events and competitions. This continues through September. Then the horses return to the stables. You’re welcome to experience this with us. We look forward to seeing you!

Stylish Ambience & Cosy Atmosphere
From the entryway, you can see the living area, decorated in light tones. Here, you can enjoy life together. Spacious yet well-organized, this area features the integrated kitchen, the dining area, and the cosy living area with its large glass front. From here, you can enjoy a sweeping, majestic view of our meadows and the grazing herds of horses.

From the loggia, sheltered from wind and rain, you can watch the activity on our farm undisturbed and in peace. You’ll see the mares with their foals and sometimes hear the blacksmith’s tools ringing as he shapes the horseshoes when the horses are being shod. Whether it’s breakfast or a romantic sunset, you’re sure to feel right at home on your loggia.

The living room and the three bedrooms feature light-colored laminate flooring. One of the double bedrooms is decorated in shades of gold, sand, and brown; the other double bedroom is furnished in white and black, and adjacent to it is the children’s room (for children up to about 10 years old), decorated in bright, colourful tones.

The white bathroom is tiled and equipped with a bathtub and separate shower.
The fully equipped kitchen area is perfect for feasting. For special meals, we’d be happy to provide you with a fondue set, a raclette, or a wok.

Activities and Tips: Each apartment has an information folder we’ve put together. Here you’ll find important information about nearby attractions, special events, and tips. Every Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the sauna area is free of charge. We offer massages, medical foot care, manicures, and osteopathic treatments performed by certified specialists right here in our facility.
