gorgeous modern cabin on private ranch

Pet friendly! Built in 2006 and just remodeled with new appliances and paint, this charming cabin on a private cattle and horse ranch is surrounded by fragrant sagebrush and chokecherry bushes and offers views, privacy, and peace. There is a large fenced yard, a private patio with furniture including cushions, a gas BBQ grill, and a chimenea with firewood provided. Inside, you have a full kitchen, a bedroom, and a full bathroom that includes a new washer and dryer. In the living room, you will find a new pull out queen sized couch, a recliner, a TV, and a woodburning stove. there is a dining table for 4 and an eating bar with two stools as well. The porch offers evening sun, while the patio has morning sun- a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee! We have plenty of parking, so if you are bringing a boat, your snowmobile trailer, or your side by sides, you will have no problem parking and turning around. This is the only cabin on our ranch other than our private home, which is barely visible from the porch of the cabin due to large bushes and trees. You are less than 15 minutes from downtown Gunnison and Gunnison Regional Airport, and about 40 minutes from Mt. Crested Butte. You can also drive East on Highway 50 and be at Monarch Mountain Ski Resort in 35 minutes. Blue Mesa Lake is less than 30 minutes away. Our gate is located between mile markers 167 and mile marker 168 on US HWY 50. Google map may be slightly off, so look for the gate between those mile markers. We have added photos of our gate and wagon wheel mail box to help you recognize us.

Beautiful property and cabin

Cabin is such a unique Colorado experience. Sitting in the back yard you’ll hear an occasional cow mooing or horse neighing, plus watch so many hummingbirds. Stars in the night sky are beautiful too. Cabin is very comfortable and homey.

A real working ranch

Always wanted to sit down with a real cowboy and talk about ranching. I lucked out when I met Brad and Michele. The cabin seems modest at first, but it’s been so well renovated that it’s just perfect if you like the Colorado lifestyle.

Excellent experience

We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. The home was comfortable and fully stocked with all we would need including some additional touches to make us feel at home! The property was peaceful with stunning views! We highly recommend!

Perfect Peaceful Stay

This has been one of our favorite stays. The house is perfect for a couple (+dogs). We did some snow shoeing outside of Gunnison and in Crested Butte, and the kitchen has all the essentials! Thanks so much for the amazing stay!

Great relaxing stay!

The stay was much needed, and it was perfect! Great views, easy access to things to do, and, the best part, I had nothing to do and had my 3 dogs with me! We don’t get to vacation like this very often so thank you for allowing us!! Seeing the horses in the mornings was a wonderful perk!

Peaceful mountain get away

A gorgeous calm fall getaway. This is the most welcoming VRBO we have stayed at to date. All the comforts of home with the perfect balance of calm, quiet nature get away. Hosts were responsive and friendly while being respectful of our space. Highly recommend.

Excellent Gunnison location

This was a great vacation location. Would highly recommend it. We use VRBO a lot, but this is definitely the best one for people with dogs. It has a terrific fenced in yard and dog door. 10/10 for value and hospitality.

Great cabin getaway

This is a lovely cabin, tucked away on a beautiful ranch in rural Gunnison. My girlfriend and I needed a relaxing getaway, and this spot checked every box! Brad and Michelle are so welcoming and positive. If you’re looking for a hidden quiet getaway, this is the spot!

Relaxing and beautiful

This is a great cabin with a fantastic yard on a beautiful ranch. Our dog loved laying outside watching the horses. Beds are super comfortable. We loved it! Can't wait to stay there again.

Fantastic Experience

Incredible dog-friendly cabin offers solitude and security on a working ranch

I can't imagine a nicer cabin! This place was spotless and had everything, including sweet-smelling pinion firewood. Even the tap water is amazing artesian spring water. If you want solitude and security on a gated working ranch, this is the place! Beautiful patio. Michelle makes sure the cabin has everything you need and Brad knows Colorado like the back of his hand; they are the perfect hosts!

Car Show

We came for the car show with our classic car. The owners were willing to accommodate our truck and trailer. We loved parking our car right out front and knowing it was completely safe. The cabin is delightful and how fun to be on a working ranch. Such a fun and enjoyable weekend. We are so excited to book it for next yea!!

Weekend Getaway

My dog and I got permission from the wife to head to the mountains for a quiet weekend. One of my favorite things was the wood burning stove. Just sitting and reading was my main plan and I can’t think of a better place for it. I ended sleeping on the couch in the living room just to listen to it crackling while I fell asleep. We hiked the property, but the weather kept us inside so there is plenty more to explore next time. Easy drive to Crested Butte for an afternoon skiing session, lots of new snow from the day before. The cabin is in great shape, I had everything I needed. I can’t wait to bring my wife next time!

What a Treat! Perfect Winter/Summer Getaway

My fiancé and I took our English Mastiff & Aussie over New Years to enjoy the peace & quiet of mountain town life. This VRBO was the perfect fit for us. Beautifully decorated, super cozy, clean & inviting, even had a fenced in yard for the pups. The fireplace kept the whole place warm & the front porch offered a special spot to enjoy some coffee or cup of tea. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to call home for a few days. The owners were wonderful, so helpful & welcoming & they gave us some great tips for site-seeing too! We drove 45 mins to Crested Butte & enjoyed some fine dining & shopping Headed 30 mins to Blue Mesa Reservoir which was stunning with the clouds & ice, then kept heading another hour or so to Black Canyon of the Gunnison (wow what a view) We were only 10 mins from the beautiful town of Gunnison & loved every spot we ate at, super convenient if you don’t want to cook, our favorites were El Paraiso & Anejo and enjoyed the java at Tributary Coffee Roasters Simply an amazing experience and we can’t wait to rerun in Summer/Fall to have even more fun! We truly feel this was the best VRBO experience we’ve had to date and we love to explore Colorado! Snatch this place up it’s a unique find, you won’t be disappointed

Peace and Tranquility

This cabin on Brad and Michelle’s property is a little slice of heaven. We went to that area for the Wildflower Festival but left Crested Butte early to come back and enjoy the afternoon and evening on the back patio of the cabin. Watching their horses graze in the pasture and the numerous birds at the feeders, it was good for the soul. We hope to return one day!
