A Peaceful Retreat with Great Local Finds – Perfect Labor Day Getaway! We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable and spacious VRBO home. The property boasts a large yard with plenty of green space and a big paved driveway, giving it a private, quiet feel that made for a truly relaxing escape. The back deck was a great spot to unwind, but the real highlight was the backyard fire pit — we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.Location-wise, you can't beat it. There's a convenient store and a genuinely excellent restaurant just a short walk away. The house itself is generously sized — we were only two adults and a dog for this trip, but the space would easily accommodate a family with kids, or even a larger group for a family reunion or gathering with friends. My one small note for improvement: the carpet in the bedrooms felt a bit older and had a slightly musty smell. Nothing that ruined our stay, but worth mentioning for future guests.Beyond the house itself, Gwinn turned out to be a wonderfully friendly little town. The folks at the local convenience store pointed us toward a food truck called "3 Fry Guyz," parked just a couple miles away near a mobile gas station. We met the friendly owner and enjoyed the most incredible smoked whitefish and whitefish dip with crackers — paired with a nice bottle of wine, it made for an unforgettable meal. The location is also ideal for exploring the Upper Peninsula
