Had an amazing stay. Beautiful hotel with delicious meals. Very friendly staff with good vibes.
Cute little inn, run by really nice people. Dinners were fantastic—different every night. The staff were really nice and even gave us a ride to the train station early the morning we left. The inn is across the street from the resort shuttle, so it’s easy to get to and from Appi Resort.
Sato san and Nora san were the perfect hosts for our 4-night stay. Food was very good and the pension was warm and cozy. Our room was spacious enough and had a wonderful view of sunrise and even part of Mt Iwaki. Our room package came with daily breakfast and dinner.
We felt we were staying with good friends and every dinner was pleasantly spent with Sato san, Nora san and fellow guests. Bon-chan was a delightful addition to the experience too. Sato san and Kazu san took turns to send or pick us to and from the APPI Plaza, which was only about 3 minutes' drive away.
Sato san has a cool style, and is a creative person who cooks very well too. His pension has touches of his art and his philosophy of life is beautful. I highly recommend this pension to anyone who wants to ski at APPI Kogen. We rented his ski gear which were of good quality but at a fraction of the price at the APPI Plaza rental place.

Clean room, friendly staff, prompt pickup and delivery service to/from the slopes.
Food was excellent room was satisfactory, parking was super convenient and access to the ski area is quick with a car. I wish there was more space to hang clothing and brighter lighting in the rooms as well as common areas.
We had a very relaxed weekend at Life Is Beautiful. It was an excellent change of pace from camping/hiking, was definitely needed. We just so happened to find the perfect place for it. The room was two twins with its own bathroom and refrigerator. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner which we do not regret as the meals were delicious. The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and understanding especially with our skoshi Japanese speaking abilities. We would definitely recommend and would indeed stay again.
Our purpose for this trip was for ski and we stayed 8 days at Life is beautiful. The room is very small with a small toilet and very small sink where we can only sit on the edge of tub to brush teeth & wash face and our body was all wet!
The owner of this hostel provided 8 sets of towel & teeth brush in the room at one time. Everyday we are having the same breakfast without any changed.
I will not recommend you to stay here!
I had a great experience here! I chose to stay here because it was close to Appi and was priced better than any of the surrounding hotels and came with dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend paying the little extra for the meals. They were fantastic. Just what I needed after a long day. The rooms are quite cozy and the beds are very also comfortable. I plan on staying here next time I go to Appi Kogen.
