Comfortable, clean, and amazing 'support' from the owner as well as a local caretaker, who was available by phone for questions and issues. The property is well maintained, highly recommended.
House was amazing, comfortable and everything was as advertised.
Great time fishing, easy access with kyaks to the water and as always great fishing on the lake.
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!
We had the best time! The house was lovely and we just loved spending time by the fireplace. It was the perfect touch coming back from spending the day out on Great Sacandaga! The location is beautiful and just a short stroll away from the beautiful lake. Our host was wonderful and communication was great! We can’t wait to come back!
House was very comfortable, although there were some mouse droppings under the sink and they could use some new frying pans. Location was great for us.
The location on Great Sacadaga Lake was perfect! Just a super short walk down a dirt road and we were on the water with spectacular views! The host was responsive to any questions that we had. Our dog was welcomed and comfortable in the house! Nearby in Northville, we found a grocery store, gas, and restaurants.
House was very comfortable. I chose it, in large part, because I have 2 dogs. They were welcoming to that. Wished the yard was fenced, but that’s not host’s fault! Learned that access to the lake is generally very limited.
Overall we had a good time. There were a few minor issues- mice had invaded the kitchen and we wasted the last morning there waiting for the exterminator who never showed up. The entire outside of the house and all the outdoor furniture could use a good power wash. The lake was more than a stone’s throw away unless you are a professional baseball player and it was not easy to get the kayaks down there-lots of rocks (which is to be expected) and the dock was tilted to one side and felt unsteady. Fortunately we were renting the house to be close to some family members who have a lakeside place so we just took the kayaks over there. The inside of the house was very clean and the furnishings were a lot nicer than what is pictured on VRBO. The owners responded quickly to questions and concerns. And it was definitely easy on our vacation budget!
We enjoyed our stay at Stone's Throw. It was a last minute trip so we were thrilled it was available. The house was clean and in good condition when we arrived. The only thing we didn't love was the distance to the shared beach. It's a short 2 minute walk but it's partially down hill and not ideal for carrying kayaks up and down. There were 6 of us, all with our own kayaks and having to carry them back and forth every time we wanted to use them was a hassle. We would probably stay again as the house itself was nice but it's not a great location if your priority is kayaking as a shared beach doesn't allow you to keep the kayaks on the beach.
How was beautiful and very clean, we had a great time! Only complaint would be the lack of a dock and the lock on the door would not work so we had to leave it open when we went down to the lake.
