Weve stayed here a couple times before and like it. Its the best place to stay in Hainburg, has a restaurant/spa/wine bar on site. Close to the Danube and lots of hiking.
Lovely characterful hotel. Very comfortable room with nice sitting area. Eccentric bathroom with no door so would not be good for friends sharing a room. Good breakfast and excellent evening meals. Perfect for our couple of chill out days by the river between city breaks
Excellent location — very comfortable hotel with easy parking and spacious rooms. It’s in an old town close to Bratislava, with convenient connections to Vienna. The only downside is the bathroom design: the shower area isn’t very private, separated only by a partial glass wall. Perfect for couples, but less ideal for sharing.
We always look for historic buildings to stay in and were very impressed with the adaptive reuse of this monastery. The room was very comfortable and attractively furnished.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The restaurant provided a good dinner and excellent breakfast buffet.
Rooms are equipped with everything you need: small refrigerator, hairdryer, tea kettle and the bathrobes were appreciated! Located in a Medieval village along The Danube with shops, grocery stores and hiking trails just a short walk away. Town is a bit sleepy at night but the train to Vienna and Bratislava are just a few blocks away.
It was a very positive suprise, not just the hotel but the old town surrounding it. Rooms very big and you really feel living in old monastery. Breakfast was excellent and personal very friendly and willing to help. Sauna was very positive experience.
This place is undersold on the site. It is a 200 year old monastry with vaulted ceilings.
The fit out is excellent. I had a family room with connecting door to kids......everything worked, everything was clean and the staff were friendly (not much english spoken but very smiley and willing to help.
Didn't eat there in the evening but breakfast was lovely of a bit pricey at 18 euro.
The town is also worth a walk around.
Our stay was fantastic! We loved our room at Hotel Altes Kloster. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The converted 750 year old monastery was beautiful, cozy, quiet and within walking distance of restaurants and sights.
It is an interesting town filled with historic sights and Incredible food. Gasthaus Haydnstuberl Inh.Stefan Weber was a wonderful restaurant. The Käsepätzle and Weiner Schnitzel vom Schwerin was amazing! We had the most delicious apple pie I have ever had at Mein Gebäck - Leyla Yilmaz. The poppy seed roll and donuts were also outstanding. Over all this was one of the most enjoyable stops on our trip. Thank you!
The hotel's aesthetics and spaciousness are commendable. The staff demonstrated exceptional helpfulness and friendliness. While the cleanliness and comfort of the room were satisfactory, the absence of air conditioning was a notable inconvenience.
Our accommodation was on the second floor, specifically in room 202. Unfortunately, at 4:00 AM, the postal service trucks and vans began loading and unloading their cargo directly beneath our room. This activity generated excessive noise, disrupting our sleep and causing significant discomfort for my entire family.
I initially booked it because it was along the planned route. It was so pleasant, we stopped to enjoy town and now plan on coming back next time we are nearby.
Lovely town and lovely place to stay. Rooms are large and there is an abundance of parking. Only disappointment was the fact that each room only had one fan and the staff were not able to give us an extra fan despite the rooms being hot and there being no air conditioning.
Breakfast confusion. Hotels.com confirmation said included tho I didn’t expect it. After eating breakfast (great), I was told it wasn’t. Still, worth the 18 Euro.
