East Coast lodging
Everything was very modern and clean. It would be nice if there was a kitchen sink or basin in which to wash our dishes. A simple coffee machine would work better than a Keurig machine as there was only one pod per day and we enjoy a few cups of coffee throughout the day. A few extra utensils would also be handy as we like to cook our meals.

Quiet neighborhood Studio
Wonderful location away from the main towns but easily accessible to main highways that get to everywhere. Clean, quiet. Small so basically for either one person or a couple who likes to be close. It was just what we needed. A quiet place to go to after an active day of exploring the island. Owner very responsive to questions.

Perfect Stay
This Vrbo is perfect. The owners are super friendly and responsive to any questions you may have. They went above and beyond! We were on the island for a week and this is the perfect place to come home to and rest.

There is no Oceanview from unit, it is a room on the back of a garage with a garden view. The amenities are overstated. No kitchen, just a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker. Toaster. Only sink for food prep is the bathroom sink. Owner states hot plate and skillet available but there is no space to cook. Bed is a double shoved against a wall, meaning one person has to crawl over the other to get in and out. Had to put our luggage in the bathroom as no room in bedroom for luggage. No AC, and visiting in Dec, with windows open and 3 fans running, room was overly warm and stuffy. Much too small for our 6' bodies, perhaps okay for hobbits

Beautiful place and super quiet. Im definitely coming back. The only down side its that there is no AC and it gets pretty hot during the day, besides that this place its awesome.

Thanks for your review and I’m glad you like our place! We’ve been working on a way to get AC in there without blocking one of the windows because I know it gets pretty warm in the afternoon sun. For the most part our guests are off sightseeing in the afternoon so we haven’t made getting AC a big priority but yes, we should step up our game and figure something out. 😬 Thanks for your feedback!

Wonderful studio, gracious host.
The studio was well kept, lush landscaping, a place to rest and plan for relaxing and enjoyable day trips. The nearby hike in a natural rainforest to the beach had magnificent plants and flowers and streams leading to the ocean.

Small but comfortable studio
We spent one night before catching an early morning flight from Hilo airport. The studio was perfect to unwind and rest before leaving. the shower was specially invigorating! The location is very convenient for those wanting to explore the Hilo area and the Hamakua Coast. Karla is a wonderful host who was very responsive.

Nice place just outside of Hilo
We enjoyed the location of this rental, and it was nice and clean. It is fairly small, but that was not an issue for us as it was basically just used as a place to sleep between adventures. The interactions I had with the hosts were very pleasant.

Karla gave excellent directions to find her place, and to access entry. I liked the keyless entry; one less thing to carry! Very comfy bed. Very VERY delightful shower, with both a rain shower head and a handheld shower head. Luxurious! A very pleasant neighborhood. Karla cautioned me that cell phone service is spotty there, but she also taught me how to make phone calls using WiFi!

This was a perfect place to stay on my drive to Hilo. The atmosphere was incredible—I loved listening to the tree frogs singing at night! The backyard was tranquil and green. The bathroom was also very nice, which is always a plus!

Small but perfect place
This place is quite small, but the owner has obviously spent a lot of time thinking about everything a traveler would need. This would be a great base for a longer-term trip. Koki frogs were LOUD, but that's cool! Winter-time, so we had waves of torrential rain - also cool. Only small suggestions: think the previous occupants had a dog, as the blankets smelled a little doggie. Also, with all the humidity, that micro-fiber blanket can be clingy and hot - maybe something quilted and smooth would be better? Really great place - would stay again.

We had a very late check in and was able to communicate with Karla to ensure this wasn’t an issue, not at all. We got in late and everything was set up perfect. There is a great tip book that Karla has put together and we went on a suggested hike right out the front door, beautiful start to the day. No AC but fans and such are supplied and that is noted in the ad. We did not have any issues. I give Karla and James 5*

Sitting outside and dining by candlelight (candles kindly provided) was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the water heater was kaput and only cold showers were possible! The host had the plumbing fixed after we left and thankfully refunded part of the rental fee. Equally problematic was the TINY space inside this unit. Best to leave your luggage in your car because there is hardly room for 2 people plus (even small) roller bags. Last, any cups, glasses, or dishes (provided) you use must be washed in bathroom sink. There is no kitchen, just a small side desk with coffee maker, microwave, etc. Having said this, if you're on your own, don't have much, if any, luggage, and only want a clean bed and a quick breakfast, this is an excellent, clean, place to stay.

This is the cutest little property with great aesthetic. Karla literally thought of every little detail to ensure a great stay. I had a bit longer stay, 15 days, to explore big island and recharge from the daily grind. I had all the privacy I needed and great amenities! The perfect place!
This little studio is small, but very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were exceptional! The price was SO reasonable! The area is lovely and the host welcoming. It was a perfect base for exploring the "Wet Side". There is a beautiful cove you can walk down to, through the lush jungle. A huge bonus.
