A little away from town center and train station but street cars go to property. Hotel nice and beds good but the bathroom is small and hard to use. Great price for in suite room with kitchenette and balcony. The breakfast are excellent and well priced to select that option
Big room (Deluxe Twin A). Kitchen,2 sided balcony, quiet, clean everything i needed. Big onsen downstairs, great restaurants. not close to the station but walkable.
Suitable for family stay special with children.
Hot spring is very nice. Good location.
Car parking - JP550 per day. Have 4 car parking locations. All nearby hotels, very convenient.
For kitchen- washing liquid not provided.
For in-house laundering- washing liquid not provided.
For wifi- not good if you are stay at high floor. Need to improve.
Itâs a value for money stay. The room was spacious and clean. Hotel offers eco cleaning, with full cleaning every alternate day, so if you stay for 2 nights, there will only be eco cleaning where a clean bag of towels and amenities including water is provided. There are two restaurants offering Japanese and western breakfast which you will need to decide which one, and time you will go for breakfast at check in. The restaurants can be crowded and be prepared to wait in line even with you appointed time. The food is worth the wait, especially at the Japanese restaurant where the amount of fresh seafood and tempura awaits the diner. The only think I needs a lot of improvement is the wifi, it is not stable and sometimes not there. There is a good number of parking spaces for the guests, so even when you donât get to park directly in the hotel, it is a few mins walk back to hotel which is fine.

The hotel's check-in system needed an upgrade, and the afternoon check-in wait was excessively long. We booked a room for four people and were told that we needed to lay out the tatami mats ourselves, which was a bit inconvenient for foreigners, as all the other hotels on this trip had laid out extra tatami mats for us before check-in. Another major problem was the strong odor in the toilet; I had to borrow air freshener from the front desk. However, the hotel breakfast deserves praise; it had a wide variety of choices and tasted delicious.
The staff was great and initially the room felt great but as I stayed I saw the cracks. The WiFi is atrocious, the sink out side the bathroom is very close to the door and feels very tight. Thereâs barely any room to place your luggage in the room. If you need to do laundry, go somewhere else to do it as the dryers will need about two hours to dry your clothes. Thereâs only 3 washers and dryers so it was struggle to share with other guests. The breakfast buffet was just ok. Also the hotel does not offer luggage shipping. This ended up being my least favorite hotel so far.
A large and well designed onsen setup on ground floor attached to the natural source. Great for those who would enjoy such setup.
Maintenance is very good for the age of this property. Rio resorts is really doing this region a great service by reviving this formerly decaying hotel in a depressed area. It is a good 20 minute walk from the main drag where everyone wants to be at.
The "premium tower" houses the very large rooms with balconies featuring extremely traditional layout. Where the toilet is in a separate room far away from the bathroom.
Now also has a coin laundry and game center, both can come in handy for traveling families.
There is a great "cash only" genuine ramen stand just across the street. McDonalds is 3 blocks away together with a healthy ecosystem of very local restaurants of various type.
The beach, which Hakodate is not particularly known for, is only one block away. The city has at least one project going on to improve the beach front area at the moment.
Staff are super friendly and superbly helpful, giving me a very good first impression of rio resorts management.
This hotel was functional and in decent location but seemed a bit dated and the pillows were rock hard. So, nice view but not the nicest hotel weâve stayed at on our Japan trip.
Good place to stay in Hokadate.
Paid for the included breakfast which I kind of regretted because they made you choose which of the two available (western or Japanese) immediately on check in for every morning of your stay. Turned out the Japanese one was so busy every morning that it was a 20+ minute wait by 8am that I ended up just skipping it after the first day and eating at Ekini market instead.
The Japanese breakfast was good, but not worth waiting for (at least for me)
Other than that no complaints - room was fine but not fabulous, location is about a 15 min walk from the main train station.
Would stay again but skip the breakfast

The hotel has a great environment and all the essentials BESIDES good internet. They run a public wifi system across the whole hotel, and it was horrendously slow unfortuntely. I tried everything trust me. The public wifi on the shinkansens are better lol.
Loved the shower, definitely my ideal showerhead, would buy and install in my own house if I had one
Western breakfast was good, large assortment and lots of good stuff

The hotel is a bit worn out and there werenât much dinner options nearby. But the onsen and the breakfast was amazing!! If you are driving or traveling light I would highly recommend global view hotel :)
Spa was GREAT! Very convenient location. Place was quite clean. Room was fairly quiet. Lousy view from our room BUT the other side view is fantastic. Better than average hotel with one of the best spa experiences.
