Here's your chance to enjoy a historical country retreat on the Grand River. With over 13 acres of 200 year old riverfront property free to use. Set up a campfire, relax in the pool, hottub, canoe or kayak the river, fish in knee deep water, hunt ducks and geese. Our property is perfect for a recreational country retreat.

Pets are allowed.
No smoking in the house please.
Shoes may not be worn on the second floor or carpets.

Great quick getaway

Great for a quick getaway. Walking to the river is pleasant and there is so much beautiful nature around. Beds are comfortable and house fits a family well. Thank you for a great stay.

Grand River Getaway

Vacationing with our teenagers, we enjoyed spending time beside the Grand River -- the fire pit was a hit with our boys! -- and we enjoyed spending time in and round the pool. The property is large and beautiful. I would have appreciated knowing before we arrived that it is an historic house.

Fantastic Private Getaway

This was a very lovely location with a warm welcoming house to stay in. Beautiful 100+ year old historical house on the Grand River. House was well stocked with everything you could need for a family vacation. 4 good sized bedrooms with queen beds. Great water pressure, lots of rooms and sitting areas to spread out in, washer and dryer, cute personal touches throughout. You can tell a lot of love and effort went into outfitting this house. My only recommendation for this space would be to make some room in the kitchen cupboards, and clear out the excess food and condiments in the fridge from previous guests. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The vacation that never happened

Our vacation was abruptly aborted less than 24 hours before arrival. The cottage had been double booked and we were notified that priority would be given to the other guests as they had booked first. I was shocked that this could happen. I had communicated with the host 2 days prior to our arrival date and absolutely no indication was given that there were any issues. We were left to fend for ourselves. VRBO and our host seemed to be arguing over who was to blame leaving us in the dust. Apparently the unit was offered on both VRBO and Air B and B and the calendars were not synced. VRBO would not assist us until after 'what would have been' our check-in time and our host insisted this was a VRBO issue and not his fault. Eventually after several phone calls to VRBO they told us we could try to find something through Expedia, however this was not possible as we were a family of 6 limited to a small area and a strict timeline and nothing was available. Luckily we were able to stay with relatives before our departure back home. Eventually our money was refunded, but not until the host and VRBO were able to resolve who was responsible between them. Our time away with family was ruined.
