My room had 1x window only and facing the lift ( so very dark and lacking fresh air ), which might be common in this area of Hanoi, but my main issue was regarding the door noises. They are quite heavy and you will hear your neighbours leaving/entering their rooms throughout the night. Breakfast is average

Comfy and convenient hotel for exploring olquarter

Can't beat the location for exploring the old quarter everything is within 5 minutes walk, staff very friendly only thing I noticed is the roof top bar is no longer open however you can still take your own drinks and chill sunbathe up there and the doors to the rooms weren't very soundproof i would recommend using ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Beds and pillows extremely comfy I slept very well

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Matilda. The staff were exceptionally friendly & attentive; with a great level of English which can be helpful at times. They happily assisted us in organising transfers & a fairly late tour booking. The room was comfortable, clean & very quiet (we were at the back of the building). The hotel is perfectly located for travellers who like to be amongst the action & see things on foot. We look forward to our next stay at The Matilda.

The rooms are quite nice but the corridors echo every noise so you hear people coming and going, slamming doors and flushing toilets throughout the night - not much good if you are a light sleeper. Also there is not enough seating at breakfast, I came down at 7.15 planning to leave for a tour at 8 and couldn’t get a seat. 45 minutes later I was able to grab a slice of toast before having to rush out of the door. Service was poor.
