About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Newfoundland’s Quiet Coast Calls

There’s a part of Newfoundland where the road ends, the pace slows, and the ocean still sets the rhythm of that place.

Salt Water Stays - Down Harbour House was created to share this place.

We are a locally owned home promoting outport stays along Newfoundland’s South Coast - hosted by people who live here and shaped by the surrounding land and sea.

This is not resort travel. There are no crowds. Noschedules. No rush.

Instead you’ll find kitchen tables worn smooth by years of meals and stories told around it, salt air drifting in through open windows, weathered stages along the shoreline and nights quiet enough to hear the tide turning.

When you stay with us at Down Harbour House your visit supports local families, small businesses, artists, fish harvesters and tour operators. Every booking helps keep local communities lived-in, cared for, and connected to their future.

Whether you’re here to explore our beaches and trails, watch the fog roll in, work remotely, or simply relax where the world feels wider - you are welcome.

Come, stay awhile.

Let the kettle boil.
Let the wind do the talking.
Let the quiet coast call you home.
