The spacious full bathroom has a tub. Downstairs is a double-sized bedroom with doors to the upstairs, living room and bathroom. The downstairs full bathroom has a shower. The location serves as a perfect base for day trips to local attractions such as Acadia National Park, Schoodic Point, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Roques Bluff State Park, beautiful Machias, Lubec and Quoddy Head, Eastport, and even the summer home of F.D. Rooselvelt in Campobello New Brunswick(remember your passport). Numerous fishing villages such as Jonesport and Beals Island provide scenic getaways. There is hiking, biking, Coastal boat tours to observe the local Puffins, Seals, Whales and the numerous light houses along the coast. A perfect place to observe the rockbound coast of Maine or the scenic blueberry fields and forests of Down East Maine. Don't forget the beautiful fall colors. Many day trips can be planned to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery.

The property is quite old and has a lot of issues with maintenance and upkeep. It was advertised as being close to the water - and it isn't. Tiles are falling inside roof hole in one wall rocks hold doors open or closed the upstairs toilet had to be fixed as the plunger was old and falling apart. It was obviously the owners grandparent place and hasn't been updated at all The owner and the friend (caretaker) were very responsive and very nice - which was helpful. I just couldn't recommend this property to anyone in the condition that it is in today.

Nice older home
It was a nice older home. Needs a place to grill and sit outdoors. The lawn wasn't mowed when we got there but someone came the next day and mowed only part of it. But on the whole we enjoyed our stay.

Very cozy stay
We had a wonderful time for our visit to Maine and this house made us feel very welcome. It was an ideal location for everything we wanted to see and do. We loved the cozy feeling and it is obvious this home was cherished. We had no need to contact the property manager. We will recommend to family and friends for a very cozy stay.

Not convenient to Acadia but fairly priced and clean
We were fortunate to get this listing on short notice. The owner and manager were very helpful and responsive. The property was clean. We were grateful for the washing machine & laundry. There is no dishwasher but that wasn’t an issue for us on a weeklong stay. The beds are a bit smaller than we are used to using but comfortable. The only real challenges were the location ( away from everything including restaurants, grocery, water and park); single shower, and the very steep yet low headroom stairs. My family is tall (5’8”, 5’11, 6’1” and 6’2”) and knocked our heads on the ceiling a few times. I recommend your tallest guests stay downstairs if possible . Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - just a little more driving each day than we’d hoped
