This is a house that is a great rental for overflow house guests. We had too many family members in town for a wedding and this was perfect for that. Room for many more than we needed. Only thing was the hot water did get warm enough for showers, etc. Was lukewarm. Would definitely use this again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Wonderful house furnishings.
I arrived at the hotel about 7 pm. The hotel is locked, all the lights are off and no one answered the door or the phone. I have never experienced anything like tbis before. I demand a refund and an apology. Take the hotel conditions, etc. with a grain of salt. The form required all fields to be entered to make a submission.
Antler Creek Lodge was a comfortable and unique choice for lodging during a recent visit to Havana for our high school class reunion. It was roomy, comfortable and quaint. Nice to be in town and even within walking distance to friends and establishments. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an alternative to Red Lion or Sycamore Motor Lodges for a roomy -- and very reasonably priced -- choice.

Love staying Under One Roof
We love the layout and the overall room. We love being able to stay in a house together with all of our family and friends. I wish it had a porch light we had to use flashlights to put a code in I also wish the refrigerator and freezer would have been empty. We had bought ice and ice cream and had no room to put it.
The place was immaculate, the bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. The house was comfortable, and very cozy with ample space to socialize and not to be on top of each other. Antler Creek was close to shopping and restaurants, the supermarket was near by, too. I highly recommend it
Heading for Havana on a spontaneous visit to see Dickson Mounds, I turned to my trusty Expedia phone ap. Found a 4 star hotel called the Antler Creek Lodge, with a glowing description and blurry photo of lodging behind trees. Given the reviews and the price, I was excited to spend the night there. In actuality, this is a no "lodge", but a house that was so run down on the outside that we drove by 3 times, and checked with the owner as to the address (no address outside house). Our "free parking" was a barely visible gravel pad. We climbed up railroad tie steps to the front door. So glad we came while it was still light, or we might easily have stumbled carrying luggage on the loose gravel and with no railings. Noticed hanging wiring exposed outside the house. Seriously debated whether to eat the night's bill and drive elsewhere, but there aren't many option in Havana after dinner hour.
Inside was better, although musty smelling, with newer paint and pottery barn furnishings, but the light switches didn't work, there were shelves and drawers missing, and the mattress was old and squeaky. The refrigerator was filled with someone else's leftovers.
The owner is an absentee landlord in California, who did make sure a cleaning service came before we arrived.
I have had good luck with Expedia in the past, but now will be more careful to look for more than 4 reviews. My guess is that they were posted by friends, because our experiences were so extremely different.
This was a great place for our family to stay while we enjoyed the history and beauty of the area. We found it clean and neat and the Landlord caring and friendly. We really enjoyed having the nice family room and kitchen to relax in and fix our breakfast. At the end of the day it was good to return to Antler Creek Lodge were we got a good night's sleep in the comfy beds. We are looking forward to staying again in this Home away from Home when we return to enjoy more of the Great Outdoors offered along the Illinois River.

perfect house to rent.
This house is perfect to rent for the weekend. There is not much lodging in havana and we were in town for a wedding. It worked out great. Cute house, free cable and wifi. Comfortable beds and pillows. There is no on site dining Which is why it got one. It would not let me leave empty.
