Large cabin on big round
We enjoyed the size of the cabin. We had 8 adults and 8 children and had plenty of room. We did have 1 issue and that was all beds had acorns in them. We were able to rewash the bedding so we made it work. Kids caught a bunch of fish ice fishing. Lots of Northern and Large mouth bass.

There was 14 of us plenty of room for us great set up had everything you could possibly want including kayaks, which were awesome and a standup paddleboard. It was a little warm one night, but otherwise the fans are appreciated and kept at cool! Couple of notes just when you're driving there it's right behind the dock for location finding it and then also had lots of boats and lots of cars, and there was room for all of it! Great stay thank you so much!

Great Place For Large Gathering

This place is WONDERFUL!
We had a total of 9 people, all family staying this year. We've been coming to Hayward for over 45 years with our family. This year, we had extended family join us so we had to upgrade to something bigger. This place is amazing! We literally got lost in the house when touring it upon our arrival LOL. The woodwork is beautiful, every room was interesting and beautifully decorated and just right for our taste. The weather was great and we went swimming, tried out the paddleboard and I kayaked for the first time in my life - I'm 53! ;) We caught fish and enjoyed our evenings watching Breaking Bad (my Dad) and playing board games and dice on the nice big kitchen table which supported all of us. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The communication was perfect with the property owner and very accommodating to us. There is one thing I can mention is that tree right smack dab in the front door really needs to be trimmed, or even better, just removed. You have to walk around it to grab the handle to open the door. THANK YOU for a great vacation in Hayward, WI - our favorite place to be. Already looking forward to 2024 :)

Incredible place for a group - convenient, spacious, comfortable. The owners and property managers are super kind, super responsive, and super helpful. The kids and adults all have a blast. We love it and can't wait to come back next year!

Perfect for our family holiday!
Plenty of room for our group! Not a property issue, but Google maps brought up to a location 6-8 miles away with the physical address we were given! I would suggest mapping to The Dock Bar and Grill instead as the cabin is directly behind there. The dishwasher was broke, but i was given notice before arriving and when we got there the owner had left a hand-written apology and a $50 gift certificate for the restaurant next door. That was an unexpected but very much appreciated gesture! The only thing that could have made our stay better was if the fish had been biting better!

A nice place for a family gathering
We have a large family and have the tradition of an annual family gathering - parents, 5 adult siblings and the spouses/children of each sibling. This house worked out perfectly for the purpose of our gathering, allowing each adult/couple to have their own room, and the room with the bunk beds and futon by the upper porch were used for the children. We ate all of our meals in, and there was plenty of space for cooking and prepping meals, as well as adequate seating for eating the meals as a family. The home was well-stocked, accurate with the description on the listing. The property managers Jeff and Sheila were great and available via text. We were able to rent a pontoon through Riverwood Rentals (via Jeff and Sheila), which further enhanced our stay and allowed us to better-explore Round Lake. We had a great time and would recommend staying here! Thanks for everything!

Great lake - spacious house
Overall our stay was pretty good. The cabin had plenty of room and seating for our families. The house does not have AC, but luckily it was on the cooler side while we stayed there. The house is pretty outdated and a bit musty, but it did the trick. The biggest downfall for this property is parking. There was not a big enough spot in front of the house to park our boat/trailer while we unloaded. There is a garage a ways from the house, but you can't park in front of it. We parked there just to unload our stuff into the cabin and to wait out the downpour, but we immediately got talked to by the neighbors and they called the property manager right away and the owner of the VRBO because we parked there just so we could unload - even though we were not blocking anyone in - and there was nowhere else to park. The lake is amazing though and the water is clear right in front of the house. Oh and we caught a mouse in the kitchen while there.

Robbie, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time on Round Lake. After 24 nearly perfect reviews, I guess we stumbled with your 3 star rating. Obviously we will strive to improve, here are some comments on issues listed by Robbie. --As mentioned on VRBO listing, there is no AC. The cabin is very close to the lake and evenings do cool down nicely. Also the property has numerous fans and windows. -- All the furniture in dining room, living room and porch along with all beds and furniture in bedroom were purchased new in 2020 from the Retreat Home Furniture store in Hayward. We really enjoyed spending time picking out the furniture for the cabin! -- I have purchased some Damp Rid product and will bring up this weekend to deal with any musty smell. On parking, I believe one of the biggest strengths of this property is available parking space. As per listing, there are 3 spots in front of cabin and 2 in the nearby garage. In 2021, I bought a lot that is 1.5 miles from cabin and cleared a large parking area. Thus within 1.5 miles, there is basically as much complimentary parking as a guest could need. Many other cabins on Round Lake are limited on parking space. Apologies on the confusion while you were unloading the contents of your vehicle/trailer. As for the mouse, not sure how it got in the house. That's our first mouse. I'll have our property manager walk the outside of the property and look for any possible entry points, but I'd guess it just found an open door. Again, I hope fun was still had by Robbie and his guests. We'll continue to work on making the property a great place to stay on Round Lake! Thanks Randy and Annie

Great location
Property is well located for what we needed for snowmobiling. Lots of restaurants locally and a winery right down the road. Plenty of room for all and all of our gear. The kitchen and master-bath could use some updating. But overall it worked for our 4 families. 12 of us.

We just recently stayed with 8 adults, 7 kids and had two fishing boats and a pontoon. This place is amazing! It was huge inside and we all had so much space! The docks were great for the boats and the location is good as well. The marina is literally two houses down so was easy to put the boats in and get to the house . The overflow lot is five minutes down the road and easy to find. The lake is crystal clear and is a perfect location for tubing with all the kids. It’s a quiet area and was just perfect. We are already booked to go back next summer!

A Great Week
Thanks for a wonderful week, Randy. Another great family vacation. The place is alot bigger than it looks from the outside. Plenty of beds for our tribe. Met our needs for a family vacation with youngsters, teens, adults and a pair of seniors. The docks and boat lifts were wonderful and the waterfront is the best we have experienced on Round Lake. Plenty of fishing (light on catching), water skiing, and tubing. Kitchen met our needs for preparing meals to be long remembered. Randy handled a misunderstanding like a perfect gentlemen and went above and beyond to deal with it. Very much appreciated. Great communication by host and Jeff the caretaker.

Best Week of the Summer
We just got back from a week at this property. Randy was a GREAT host. He was very responsive to all out questions. We had 3 families with 10 teen age kids and the layout of the house was perfect. They all fit upstairs and had plenty of room to spread out. The lake is unbelievable. The water is clear and the bottom is sand. The 2 kayaks and the paddle board were a hit! Powell's restaurant across the bay is a must. Great food and family friendly. We will definitely be back.

Great vacation cabin!
This cabin has ample room to accomodate large groups and comes with all the comforts of home but still feels like a cabin. Communication with the host and property manager was excellent! Parking was a bit of an issue with us, but Randy went the extra mile to provide extra parking. The lake was beautiful and very clear. Fishing was a little slow over our week, but we all had a great time regardless!😊

The photos don’t do the cabin justice...it’s adorable! There is plenty of space to spread out in the living room and dining room. The beds are comfy and the rooms are spacious. The pool table provided hours of fun, although we wish the pinball machine was in working order. We had a few minor issues with the baseboard heat not kicking in upstairs and the garage doors being locked as we needed to store our ATVs, but a quick call to the property manager and all was resolved promptly! We lucked out with amazing weather and were able to clear some snow on the ice for games of boot hockey, ice skating, and ice golf. A few of us brought our snow shoes and walked around the lake to take in the beauty. There is a cute bar/restaurant steps from the cabin that we were able to enjoy. We loved our long weekend there so much that we decided to book for a whole week next year!

Wonderful Retreat on Big Round Lake
This place has it all! I think we may have been one of the earlier renters because it had no reviews on VRBO when we rented, but I am happy I didn't let that deter me! This HUGE cabin has 7 roomy and well furnished bedrooms, a game room, and very nice screen porch, a comfortable living room and 4 bathrooms. Since the original listing photos, the owners have done a lot of updating and renovating. When you walk in, it smells like wood (in a good way) and it feels very warm and cabin-like. Here are some highlights and a couple areas for improvement: We had 14 people and we fit VERY comfortably. No one shared a bed except the married couples so each of our teen/young adult daughters/girlfriends had their own room with a queen bed and the sons/boyfriends shared the bunk room. The rooms upstairs were especially large and we were able to pull a twin mattress off the bunk bed so our littles (age 2 and 5) could sleep on the floor in their parents' room. The beds were comfortable with nice clean linens and plenty of pillows. The bathrooms were clean, but an upstairs shower did start to leak into the bedroom below and the floor in the shower in the master bath was a little spongey. The bathrooms may be a work in progress. There were many, many very nice quality towels, hand towels and washcloths which was a fantastic surprise. The kitchen was small and that made it a bit challenging to prepare and cook food for a large group, but the supplies were awesome. There were plenty of nice quality dishes, utensils, cookware, storage containers, etc. The only think lacking would be a few more large serving bowls and more counter space. We moved the fold up table from the screen porch to the kitchen and it was very useful in providing a few more feet of counter space. The washer and dryer were a godsend and were heavily utilized for beach towels and the like! The living room was comfortable and had a large TV with cable (I think...we didn't really watch it! Too many other great things to do!). The pool table was a big hit with our young people but there was only one cue with a pad on the tip. The screened porch was our favorite place. It has nice Adirondack chairs and a wonderful view of the lake, just feet away. The water is crystal clear for at least 6 ft, you have the use of two boat docks and the Round Lake Marina is around the corner. We rented boats, jetskis and a float mat and had 5 glorious days of fun in the sun. Rent with confidence! It's a GREAT place!

We had four families stay for a week in the house and it was perfect. Plenty of sleeping space and enough bathrooms for 15 people. The lakefront was wonderful and having two docks was awesome because we had 8 people fishing at the same time. We loved the lake! It was quiet and clean. We will go back to Round Lake.

Fantastic swimming area for kids. Great screened in porch so kids could be watch in comfort. Large rooms and comfortable beds. Owners are obviously making improvements based on the photos on Internet. Property manager was very responsive and accommodating. Could use a little more seating for meals.
