"The staff that worked the front desk, we’re not friendly or welcoming, however, the Waitress is inside the restaurant and at the bar we’re fabulous. If I could recommend one important thing, they should have staff members cleaning the spiderwebs from the staircases and railings frequently."

"Place was great for a family with kids. It was clean and well laid out. We had everything we needed for our stay. The view from the deck was beautiful. A great way to have coffee in the morning or enjoy family dinner in the evening. The location was great, close to the highway and all the major things we wanted to do."

"Had a wonderful day at The Red House. Everything went perfectly. If I was to complain about anything, the kitchen could be slightly better appointed… But it was so minor overall, it was just a wonderful place to stay in."

"The house was easy to find and as described online. Easily accommodated our group of 8 adults (we were supposed to be 10 and with 5 bedrooms, that would have been fine, too). It was impeccably clean, nicely furnished, well-appointed. The beds and linens were comfortable. Plenty of towels. Instructions for our stay and for checkout were clear. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and around the large firepit. Our group comes to the area every August and we would definitely stay here again if it's available. Thanks, Mike!"

"House was nice and big, clean. Can see the updates they have started to make, will love to see what else they do. Kitchen was updated and pretty well stocked. Parking was a little challenging with larger cars. Loved having the access to the lake, we utilized the canoes and kayaks but the trail is definitely steep and you have to be careful. The host was very response when I reached out with any questions. We called it a ‘classic’ mountain house and enjoyed our stay!"

"We had trouble finding the cabin and the parking. A better map would be helpful. The cabin is old and the furniture isn't very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked except I would recommend that paper towels be provided. It rained the entire time we were there so we weren't able to do much."
