This is a very quaint and unique Inn worth visiting. Very charming and the staff was great. We enjoyed the quieter location just over the bridge from the main tourist area. Breakfast was a little pricey but was worth the experience. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. My only complaint was that the bathroom in our suite was very dated and the old shower head sprayed everywhere.
Ein wirklich toller Empfang hat uns gleich am Anfang begeistert. Das Frühstück hat den Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht. Die Zimmer sind wirklich toll eingerichtet.
What an amazing hotel! We were greeted by a manager who was very lively and welcoming and gave us lots of good suggestions as to what to see in town the next day. We followed her suggestions and had a wonderful tour of Hburg from the tourist info office, which was an easy walk across the bridge from the hotel. Loved the view of the castle up on the hill as we walked into town, although you don't see it directly from the hotel.
The breakfast was amazing. Worth every penny. I've never had so many little delights, so artfully presented, so carefully prepared and delicious. I felt so pampered and special!
The manager was so kind to bring us a fan to our room, and to personally return my husbands glasses to the room after he left them downstairs when he went to have a whiskey out on the terrace. Delightful management, wonderful stay! Try them, you'll love your time there!
Great historical place. Very clean and well kept. Friendly staff.
Restaurant was closed during my stay but plenty of places to eat in the city.
Thank you!
Beautiful hotel and excellent customer service. Walkable to the old town, which I imagine is the reason you're going to Heidelberg!
Nice history of the hotel and area by check-in staff!

We made a very late minute booking at Die Hirschgasse and they were very accomodating with a canape and drink on arrival as well as a small bottle of wine and chocolates left for a night snack. We loved the story and history of the building and stayed in the Peking Room. The rooms were decorated by Laura Ashley and we enjoyed the eclectic style, furniture and items in the room. The hotel is a convenient walk into the old town, was easy to get to by car and had easy parking in the courtyard. We unfortunately weren't staying on a night the restaurant was open but did have their huge breakfast, including chia pudding, lemon custard, great homemade yoghurt, rolls, homemade jam, local honey, omelette, poached eggs, meats, cheeses and small sweets.
Lidt dyrt men alle pengene værd !!!
Fantastic old world charm. A very warm welcome from the staff on arrival. Nicely decorated and comfortable rooms. Terrific breakfast. A great stay within walking distance of the old town.
This was a wonderful and historic place to stay, steeped in stories, with an exceptionally attentive and engaging staff. Room very comfortable. Breakfast the most sumptuous possible. What a treat!
Nice hotel, great location, friendly staff, awesome breakfast, convenient location across the river from all the action, yet easy to walk to the main attractions. Only thing that would have been nice is a kettle in the room to have a cup of tea in the evening.
This hotel is a hidden gem, we had a lovely introduction to the hotel and the quality of the service was delightful. Breakfast in the dining room was a treat.
Loved the hotel and staff. Built in 1472. Mark Twain wrote about his experience there in book about his travels to Heidelberg. Bought a copy of the book at hotel. Will stay there again.
Beautiful! Lovely garden, great food, very friendly staff. Our 3 day stay was wonderful!
A handy-man might be needed to clean or paint scuff marks on walls, to check plumbing drips, shampoo the carpet.
However, those were very minor things, which did not overcome the delicious food, glorious staff and beautiful plants growing on the front of the building.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this small, lovely hotel!
The staff of this hotel went over the top to assist us in every way when we found ourselves sick and in needs of lots of help with procuring doctors, new reservations, etc. They did so without complaint and in good humor through it all. The hotel is charming, historically interesting and Ina marvelous setting. The manager is happy to take the time to tell you about the history of the place in detail and is extremely knowledgeable. The hotel is great, but the staff takes it to superb.
We arrived on a Friday and did not think to book the dinning room at the hotel in advance. They were totally booked but very kindly made reservations at another resturant in town. We had wine in the garden whuch was lovely and breakfast although very pricey was delicious. We were not impressed with the room accomodations but the staff are very helpful and it has a charming ambiance.

Only two types of breakfast either bread and coffee, or a big breakfast with deli meat, cheese, lox, yogurt, bread, egg and bacon. Wish there was an option in between.
