We highly enjoyed our stay. This small cabin is perfect for two. While the weather was uncooperative for us to enjoy sitting outside, this cabin is literally right on the river. In better weather it would be relaxing to sit outside and listen to the river. This cabin had everything we needed for our short stay, was an easy walk or drive to the main drag, and was exactly as pictured. We would return.

We loved the cabin and its location. Was able to check in a little early which worked out great. Cabin was very clean. Easy walk into downtown. Loved watching floaters down the river and listening to the water. Only fault was the noise of the traffic on the other side of the river. But we did love the cabin. Would highly recommend staying there.

I wanted a place to take my 92 year old mom where we could mosey around Helen and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river. This cabin was absolutely perfect! Great location and the spot on the river was great. I can’t wait to go back with my husband sometime!

Anniversary Trip

My girlfriend and I were in Helen to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was a relaxing location for the two of us. You couldn’t be closer to town, but it’s still quiet at night listening to the river flowing. All around we loved the cabin, location, and decor, and would recommend this location to other couples wanting to enjoy Helen!

Brief stay

We decided to go to Helen for a few days to celebrate our anniversary just to relax and enjoy Helen in the off season, our stay at River Haus was great, it’s close to town yet on the river. Yes the main road is just on the other side of the river but the traffic was light so it didn’t bother us. Communication was great. Thank you!

Rustic cabin on the river. Was able to fish right out of the door. I will say there were some little bugs (weevles?) and ants in the kitchen. Need to be sprayed.

The location is perfect! Short walk to town so no need to drive and search for parking spots. The deck is right on the edge of the river! I literally fished from the deck. My wife wants to move in!

I guess I'm a unique guest compared to the others who have left 5-star reviews, but this little cabin isn't even close to what we hoped for at the price we paid. I booked this property because of this description: "A fisherman's paradise - trout fishing right in front of your own cabin - catch your limit on the beautiful, clear waters of the fast-flowing Chattahoochee River." BUT nowhere in the description or photos does it disclose that between 9am and 7pm each and every day, there are 1000 screaming kids and drunk rednecks on innertubes that take over the river. We even had people from the river walking onto the property and invading our privacy. Of course, this made it impossible to fish, which was the only reason I was there. So between the road noise from the highway on the opposite side of the river and the never-ending stream of tubers, there was not much hope of finding the "rest and relaxation" the property description promises. The chairs at the fire pit and on the deck were so neglected and dirty. The inside of the cabin is also neglected and dated, and needs a thorough deep cleaning. PROs: The management group does an excellent job of making sure you know how to check in and check out and connect with them during your stay. The cabin location is excellent if you want to get away from town, but still be close enough to walk into town. It probably took us 10 minutes to get to the edge of town and 25-30 minutes to walk to anywhere we wanted to shop or eat.

Negative out weighs the positive

On our last stay at this same property, just 7 months earlier, the washer and dryer were accessible, so for this recent 5 day visit we packed accordingly. On arrival the laundry room door was locked and we were told the owners decided not to the allow access to it. Cell service is non existent which is perfectly understandable, but makes reliable WiFi very important. The WiFi was erratic and had no signal 90% of the time at our last visit but we were reassured it had been checked out recently and was working well. If anything, WiFi availability was even worse. As physicians it is important we be available to contact our patients and the hospital, we had to drive into town multiple times and at all hours of the day to communicate with my medical team and patients. Perfect location and a cozy clean cottage and we hoped to plan many trips there but unless these two important issues are addressed we will be unable to rebook.
