Relaxation at its finest
I took my mother and stepmom for a few days of relaxation away from our fur babies and to get away during my Spring Break (I teach special education students). It was absolutely perfect! The unit was immaculate, it was very spacious, and the porch outside listening to the rolling river was absolutely amazing!

Awesome place!
We had a great time! the place was maintained well and we made use of all the amenities. The hot tub, pool table and arcade machine on lower level is where to be! Would return for sure!

Great Cabin!

Holidaying in Helen
After reading about Helen in Southern Living, I was determined to locate a cabin to add to the enjoyment of our trip. River Retreat fit the bill with the additional bonus of being located on the river! It was cozy and comfortable. We did have a difficult time locating it due to the outside light being burnt out and we arrived after dark.

Cute House Close To Town
We had a wonderful 3 days in Helen. The house was comfortable and provided us with a relaxing getaway. We did ask for a new coffee maker after the first morning when we realized the one in the house did not work. They said they would replace it that day and they never did. Otherwise the stay was enjoyable.

Property misrepresented/not clean
Unfortunately, this property is not kept up and management didn’t seem to care when informed of the bad condition. Upon check in found mice droppings scattered throughout living room and bedroom. Living room furniture was honestly disgusting full of dirt and stains. We had to lay blankets down to even sit down. Wish we could post pictures with our review. Zero kitchen supplies, not even pot holders for handling hot pans. 3 coffee machines with no filters. Basic things like salt, oil nothing. Come prepared or buy everything. Found pan full of grease in oven. Freezer was frozen over and ice maker broken. Use of the hot tub on night 1 found hot tub was not up to temperature, even after setting to 104 did not feel like 104. Pictures look amazing being River front, however just past the river is an enormous water park eye sore, but luckily was closed out of season. No hand soap in bathroom, no shampoo or conditioner either. Sadly falls short of the basics requirements that you’d expect at this price point. Seems mgmt thinks guests should pay to stock the rental for them. You’d be better off at one of the other numerous rentals in the area that put some thought into guest needs.

Daughter Time
My husband and I stayed there with my daughter and her husband. So good to be with them. House was decorated pretty, bed was ok but the house was not as clean as I would have expected. The vent filters were black and very much needed changed. Location was great, right behind the water slides. If the house had been cleaner it would have been a much more nicer stay.

Girls weekend!
We decided to try renting a cabin instead of hotel. The place was nice but make sure to wash the kitchen stuff before you use them. We could tell what the previous guests ate from the leftovers on the bottom of the pots and pans. Slight bug problem also. It made for some screams, laughs and stories.

Great time cabin
Very nice, steps were a little concern. Cabin was beautiful, but upstairs TV didn't work. But we dealt with that. Small problem with passcode being changed, but they solved the problem as soon as we called them. Excellent service. We would stay there again.

River Retreat
Great location, property was very clean and as described. Water park directly across the river, but it was not in operation while we were there and was clearly seen in photos before i booked. Only issue we had was wifi and cell service was basically non existant at the cabin. Had to leave the property and join guest networks to retrieve any data, so wouldn't plan on working remotely from this location or even looking up directions for where you may be adventuring for the day.

Perfect location
This cabin is nestled in the perfect spot in Helen! Just outside of town but within minutes of everything. Plenty of things to do and conveniently close to Helen tubing/water park. Would definitely recommend.

River Retreat was superb!
This cabin was perfect and location was excellent. The view and access of the river was great and the guys definitely enjoyed it. The deck was nice to enjoy our grilling night and the hot tub was enjoyable on the crisp, cool nights. The cabin was perfect for togetherness but also gave us our privacy. It was well stocked and very clean. Location was also a bonus because it was just a short drive to town for shopping or eateries. The rental company called checking to make sure everything was good. Our Wi-Fi was not working and they jumped right on it to fix the problem. We will definitely rent from them again. Thanks for helping to make our vacation a success.

Anniversary Trip

Served it’s purpose
Upon arrival we found a dirty brown towel draped across the back of the recliner. Then discovered the upstairs toilet wouldn’t flush. The pots and pans need replaced, all handles felt like they were about to fall off. Good thing we only planned on cooking breakfast one morning.

Another wonderful stay at The River Retreat
We stayed at this cabin 4 years ago. My wife and daughter have been wanting to go back. We finally did and are very happy we did. This cabin is well equipped and very cozy, yet spacious for its listed size. Very good cabin to rent. If the owner is interested in selling it please let me know. Otherwise, I do plan on returning to rent it.

Wonderful Property
The location is super close to downtown (walking distance if you're willing) and the river in the back of the house is a blast for the kids. Overall a fantastic experience and would consider renting this same property again

Beautiful with leaves changing. Cabin very nice. River was too low to catch trout and Main Street too many people and long waits at restaurants. Pretty location!

Peaceful spacious cabin
The location was ideal to the town of Helen for Oktoberfest! Enjoyed the mornings listening to the river flow sitting up on the spacious porch. Our group utilized the hot tub, grill, classic gaming system, and other kitchen amenities. All were in good working order. The beds were cozy and accommodated the group nicely. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town! The property management group communicated regularly and professionally from start to end. Even made a courtesy phone call to ask if we needed anything and how we enjoyed the first night. Thanks again for the great memories!

Great location.
We had a great time. We stayed in the cabin next door last year but decided to stay in this cabin this year because it had a hot tub. Saying that, the hot tub is only big enough for 2 people. There was 4 of us so that was a little disappointing. The area is really nice. We brought camping chairs & sat in the river. The only thing I would suggest is updating the furniture to something washable. The couch & chairs have stains all over them, some very questionable.....The multi cade game was a lot of fun. FYI bring quarters. Brought back some memories. I would stay here again.

Great Family Property
We loved this cabin. Great location at a very reasonable price. The kids loved playing in the river and tossing a football in the backyard. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.

The best Vacay!!
This property was clean and had all the details! I forgot to bring coffee filters for the coffee I brought but there were some left in the pantry! I also forgot my hair dryer but found one inside a bathroom drawer! The views of the water are beautiful! My favorite part of the day was listening to the white water on the back covered porch drinking coffee. So peaceful and serene. The trees allowed for privacy to where you could barely see the water park on the other side of the river. We walked from our cabin to downtown one day when they had parade. It’s walkable but thankful we didn’t walk daily. Can’t wait to visit again!

Super cute and by the river!
Clean cabin with a good amount of space for just 2 people. We loved seeing/hearing the river sitting on the porch and being able to dip our feet in! Everything went seemless with finding the cabin and check in! The only con was the strength of the Wi-Fi. It connected but was very spotty and unreliable.

I totally enjoyed being there. Great location by river, loved sitting on balcony listening to the river and watching the geese. I thought is was a little dusty but it was the carpenter bees creating sawdust. The cabin was clean.

Quiet neighborhood.
The house was very wonderful!! Super-super clean on the inside. Loved the rooms in the style. The outside makes it look a little run down. They are having trouble with these huge burrowing bees and there is sawdust everywhere on the steps, gets on your vehicle, on the decks are plenty of dead ones everywhere. The bees did not bother us or attack but they do make a mess And we didn't dare leave the door open. The grounds could use just a little bit of TLC. Again the house is wonderful, Did not care for the couple of flights of steps for the entry. Just being honest. I would not choose it again because because Of the steps. Trimming some branches would make the view much better also. Thank you and we left it clean and we left A-day early.

We stayed here for a girls weekend in late April. The river was too cold to go in but it was beautiful to sit by it. We weren't aware that there is a large waterpark on the other side of the river - it was part of the view and might be loud if open (it was still shut down when we stayed so not sure). The house itself was walkable to town and I think represented well in the listing. I would point out that the hot tub is on the smaller side. It fit 4 of us but it was tight; it would be better for 3 adults. Otherwise, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay!

Great property for families with children
We rented this property with 3 adults and 3 small children all under 10. It was a great location being in town. The kids loved the river and exploring for rocks, playing with the geese, the loft beds, and the hot tub. The property had some worn furniture but it was all very clean and the home Itself was in immaculate condition. Check in/out process could not have been easier. Property management contacted us just as they said they would with access instructions. We will definitely stay here again!
