Stunning!

Wow - where to start . . . this property has everything you could ask for. We enjoyed every moment from our initial reservation inquiry to checking out on our last day. The property is impeccably clean from top to bottom - probably the cleanest property we have ever stayed at and we have traveled quite a bit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return next year!

Everything we hoped for and more

Absolutely amazing!

From the moment we stepped in - the house was perfect! It was very clean and had all the items you would need in your home away from home. Kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were very comfortable and the bedding was so soft and perfect! Plenty of towels. We enjoyed the pool table, foosball table, and video games. Utilized all the outdoor toys too (kayak - paddle boards). We absolutely loved it and will recommend to everyone!

Great gathering spot

We had a work retreat here with people from 6 states. We returned after convening here last year because the home is so comfortable and so many of us could drive. A beautiful, quiet spot in February. Super responsive hosts.

Beautiful and well equiped lake home with great sunset views.

Restfull week

What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing week. We love that when you rent the pontoon boat it is already at the property and you leave it there, so you have access to it the entire week. The kitchen is very well equipped and well labeled so you don't have to hunt for what you need. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and was super clean and ready to enjoy.

Amazing Place!

We had a family gathering here and we could not be more pleased. Everything is ready to go and you will love how comfortable and spacious the whole house is. The double fridge and double dishwashers are a huge help with all of the meals we cooked there because we didn’t want to leave. The beds are comfy and the sunsets are amazing. You will not regret a stay at Carried Away.

Better than we expected

A lake vacation is new to our family. It’s typically the ocean, however, we have been forever won over by Lake Gaston! We all prefer the quiet serenity of the lake versus pounding waves….. “ no salt, no sharks, no worries”…. We have already rebooked this home for next year. There were 13 of us and the house was more than accommodating and beautiful! We were all together when we wanted to be , but also found personal space if needed. We loved Carried Away and would highly recommend it!!!

Wonderful stay for a large group!

This was our second family vacation at Carried Away and it is everything we could need! We had 20+ people and had plenty of room with the 10 bedrooms, large dining table, double dishwashers and 3 refrigerators. Being lakefront was perfect for fishing and enjoying the provided paddle boards and kayaks. The game room was a huge hit with all ages, and the hot tub was a nice touch as well. All our communications were professional, and they were quick to respond. I can highly recommend this place for your large group!

Party House!

Build in some time for check out cleaning - especially if you have the whole place occupied. Suffice to say there was lots of booze drunk, full trash in the many bathrooms and a kitchen full of food after our four days of a party of 22!! We had a blast and the vibe and river were perfect. We swam, kayaked, hot tubbed and hung out in the many lounge spaces. The house is well set up and maintained!!

Beautiful home!

Despite the wet and windy March weather, we had a great time at this beautiful house because there was plenty to do. We especially loved the ping pong table in the garage, as well as the pool table and the electronic games in the basement. When it wasn't raining we pulled out the corn hole game as well. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable.

Absolutely perfect lake house

This was our second stay at Carried Away. The house is spacious, very clean, and beautifully furnished. The yard is great for throwing football and family games. The dock at the lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We loved the rented pontoon and spent very enjoyable time on the lake. Communication with the management is very easy and they are quick to respond to questions. If you are looking for a beautiful spot on the lake with amazing sunsets in a spacious home this is it!

Amazing place!

This was the perfect place for our family - all 20 of us! It had everything we could need and want. The large dining table was a great fit along with all the outside dining upstairs and down. Our family especially loved the two game rooms and spent a lot of time there. The outside fire pit was wonderful in the evenings, and the boat, kayaks and paddle boards were fun for all. They were super responsive for any questions or concerns, and showed up to give us boat instructions right away when we arrived. Great service all around! Highly recommend this location, house and property manager!

Beautiful Home & Property for Family Vacation!

Great house: plenty of room for our family of 16, ages 19 months to 67 years old! Wonderful kitchen, great room and large dining room table for family meals along with the outdoor dining spaces. Loved the boathouse & deck, highly recommend renting a pontoon boat and jet skis! Adult kids and grandkids loved the basement with billiards and arcade games. Beds were comfortable and all bedrooms were nicely furnished. We brought our dogs and the yard was great for them as well! Another nice touch was the ice machine in the garage! Had a really relaxing and fun week and we're looking forward to returning next year!

Amazing!

Been looking for a place in Lake Gaston to accommodate our mini family reunion and this place is a gem! The layout and cleanliness of this place is superb! I love the fact that everything in the kitchen cabinets and light switches are all labeled which made it very user friendly! Easy communication with the host and very responsive! Great Summer Vacation

My parents were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and my brothers and I looked for almost a year to find a house that could handle 3 generations. This was the prefect house! The big dinning room table gave us a great space to eat dinner together and play games when we were done. The pool table, ping pong table and arcade games gave the kids plenty to do when we were not in the lake. The hot tube was enjoyed by all. It was super easy to get to. Food Lion was close enough that when we had to run to the store it didn’t feel like a half of day trip. We enjoyed a movie in Roanoke Rapids.

Level of thought and detail was amazing

We had a family weekend of 20 and everyone was comfortable and never felt crowded. I have never seen a more organized house. The house has so much to offer all ages. It was the perfect house for our 88 year old mother. The game room was a hit with the kids and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We had great weather for the paddle boards and kayaks. The entire property has so much seating outside and inside. The views from the house are incredible. It is rare to see a lot this flat with a great yard at Lake Gaston. Making the reservation and checkin was a breeze. The house was super clean and the furnishing were fresh and of quality (especially the kitchen) The house information was so clearly displayed and supplied, we never had to ask the host any questions. We plan to return again next year.

Great Value

This was a last minute family trip but we were not disappointed with the stay! My family of fourteen (and our golden retriever) had a blast. There was plenty of space to spread out and all the kids got their own room. The back yard was so spacious. Our dog had plenty of room to run full speed. She even jumped in the lake a few times! There was a fire pit outside where we all had s’mores and got to visit with each other! The check out instructions were also very straightforward and the hosts were very responsive. I definitely recommend for a large family get together!

Beautiful Home!!

Carried Away is a beautiful home! The house is spotlessly clean, and well furnished. The kitchen is stocked with many appliances, cookware, and dinnerware. The beds are very comfortable, with soft sheets and blankets. The large yard was perfect for games and family touch football. The dock is perfect for relaxing, fishing, boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We spent so much time playing around the dock area. The marina is only a few minutes drive and boat ride, which is s plus. Communication with this house’s management is easy and they are very responsive. We love this house and will be returning again next year!
