Top Herbster Hotel Reviews

The Washburn Inn - On the Lake

10/10 Excellent

"I love staying here! The staff are warm and welcoming, as well as so helpful. The rooms are clean, the location is amazing, and it is a true gem!"

Super 8 by Wyndham Ashland

10/10 Excellent

"We were surprised at how much we enjoyed staying there. It wasn’t just a hotel room. It was a “home base” where we could decompress peacefully in a comfortable room from the adventures we had through the day! The staff were amazing. This will definitely be the place we stay when we come to Ashland! (We’ve stayed at other places in Ashland but this one we’ll come back to!)"

Beachfront and Lakehouse With All of the Comforts!

10/10 Excellent

"This is our third year staying at this property. We are so spoiled that we can’t even look at other properties. There are 17 acres of woods and naturalized field here, along with over 600 feet of Lake Superior. The house is spacious and has everything you could possibly want for your stay. The host is very hospitable. We come in the fall when the tourist season is over so things here about are pretty quiet. But we like it that way. We come for the relaxation and the tranquility. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, picking rocks along the shoreline, watching the bald eagle hunt. We travel with our 100 pound German Shepherd, who is welcome here. Be advised you need to bring your supplies because there are no grocery stores near. We come from Minnesota so we grocery shop in Superior rather than pack food."
