The cabin is comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing, immersive nature experience. We were visited by hummingbirds, turkeys, coati, and a few new bird species for the birdwatching app. Would definitely return!
What an amazing spot to stay if you love birds and wildlife. We were greeted by the turkeys when we arrived. I loved that. I loved all the bird that I found while staying here. Very close to other birding hotspots! Trails were easy and fun to walk on. If I’m ever back in the area I will for sure stay here again!!
Cowboy Cabin is such a great getaway place. So cozy, clean, quiet and relaxing. Just as described, wild turkeys, deer, birds, squirrels, all right out the back door. Beautiful spot in the mountains and only a short drive to town. We will definitely be booking it again!
We found the cabin to be clean and exactly as advertised, rustic, perfectly appointed, and in a quiet and private location. Owners are super, helpful, and quick to respond. Deer and turkeys were a lot of fun to have around! Thanks for a wonderful experience!
This is a very nice cabin. It was very clean, the bed was comfy, and the kitchen was stocked & complete. Sitting on the little patio area & watching the animals was very pleasant. It is in easy walking distance to the Ramsey Canyon Nature Conservancy, so you don't have to worry about that parking lot filling up.
Quaint cabin on a nicely-maintained property, high (but assessably) up in a mountainside canyon. Property managers were friendly, and went above and beyond to make comfortable and engage nature-loving types, like my wife and I. Being from the East, we got dozens of life-birds to add to our list, even during a non-migration season! Plus, it was a welcome break from the snow.
If you are ever in South East Arizona stay here. The hosts did a great job getting this cabin comfortable. And outside they have done everything imaginable to get you close to Nature. From the well manicured trail system to the Bird Feeders off the deck.
As for birds , here is a list that we identified after a full day of birding on the property , and nearby Ramsey Preserve. And this is the low season. Can't wait to go back in the Spring

We had an amazing stay at the Cowboy Cabin in March. The cabin was immaculate and adorably and comfortably furnished. They thought of everything, right down to the deer food and hummingbird nectar! The full sized kitchen has all you'll need and more. It was extremely peaceful and quiet and I cannot say enough about the spectacular scenery. There are creeks and trails to walk right on the property, it's the perfect place to get back to yourself, your loved one(s) and nature. If you're a birder, we saw so much right from the very private back porch: yellow eyed juncos, blueJay's, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and a hepatic tanager! I will miss the turkeys and the deer and watching the turkeys roost in the sycamore trees was a magical experience. They owners are extremely personable and all communication was great. A really wonderful and special place!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Ramsey Canyon Cabins. The hosts, Jen and Greg, were always available to help out with info and any requirements. As naturalists we had a great time observing the many birds and mammals on the large property and especially appreciated the resident wild turkey and deer.
Comfortable accommodations providing for all needs. Friendly knowledgeable owners. Close to town, yet still away from it all. Wonderful for birding, acquired 40 species in the area, many right at the property. Gould turkeys, stellar jay, 3 species of hummingbirds, lesser goldfinch to name just a few. Clear skies for astronomy observing. Can't wait to return, next time for longer than a week.
