The Harraseeket Inn & Event House Freeport Downtown

The Harraseeket Inn & Event House Freeport Downtown

8/10 Good
"Best hotel in Freeport Maine and we tried all of them. Prices through Expedia were a savings over direct purchase. Hotel is “quaint” and reflects the Maine appreciation of vintage furniture. Furnishings were lower quality than we expected but functional."

"We love the Hotel Brunswick so much that we plan to return annually. Lovely people, great food, absolutely so clean you could eat on the floor, extremely quiet, beautifully appointed. A+++!"

"Rooms are updated, with everything clean and comfortable and more modern than one would assume from outside. There is ample parking. The stairway to second-floor rooms is outside with no elevator, which may be a consideration for some travelers."

"The rooms were as clean as the staff could manage, I'm sure. By that I mean, nice clean bedding and towels; clean bathroom. But there was a mustiness that seemed to have permeated the rooms; perhaps the carpeting? Parking was fine and very available. The breakfast was so-so, but it was "you get what you pay for" offerings. The coffee was good, at least! And there was seating both indoors and outside on a patio. The staff was okay. Couldn't really answer questions but referred us to a hand-written phone number on a very small card at the front desk. We were only there for a weekend, so it was good enough."

Fishermans Wharf Inn

Fishermans Wharf Inn

8/10 Good
"Fisherman’s Wharf is, overall, a very convenient, self-contained property. You can eat at the tavern without ever leaving the grounds, and once you’re there, you can easily walk just about anywhere you want to go in Boothbay Harbor. Our room had a small deck with a partial view of the harbor, which was lovely. We could see the public dock, which was always full of activity, and we were right next door to the Applejack Schooner. It was a great location for simply sitting back and watching everything going on around the harbor. My only real negative would be the condition of the room itself. “A little beat up” is probably the best way to describe it. The bathroom seemed quite outdated, particularly the bathtub, and the room itself could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and some updating. That said, it was very clean, which is certainly important and worth mentioning. Parking was interesting! There is a parking attendant who parks your car for you, which I assume is at least partly because the parking area is somewhat limited and awkward. It worked fine, but it was a little different from what we expected. Overall, the location and convenience are really the selling points of Fisherman’s Wharf. Being able to park the car, walk everywhere, enjoy the activity of the harbor and have a restaurant right on the property made it a very convenient place to stay."

"Not a pretty place but the bed was comfortable and felt clean and the access to town was easy. Cheap and easy for one night. Only complaints was the smokke smell everywhere even in our non smoking room but that's to be expected if people are allowed to smoke outside their rooms but not in."
