Thank you for the review! I always appreciate feedback from guests… just a note on the porch issue. Pollen in Highlands is at its pean right now!!! The porch was cleaned prior to your arrival and after you had been there for 36 hours, you brought the porch to my attention as you thought it needed additional cleaning… I had my housekeeper immediately come back and clean the porch again (cleaning number 2) noting that it could be dirty again in 36 hours. I not only had the porch cleaned for you a second time, I also refunded your entire cleaning fee!!!!!! Of additional note, it’s a guest house, as noted in the description, on the same property as the main house. Glad that you had no issues with privacy noise etc It was designed to allow plenty of separation between the two rentals. I’m addition, I gave you a late check out. Plus your reservation was for 1 person and actually 2 people stayed there…. I’m a bit surprised that all things considered, you gave me less than a 5 star review. Sometimes it’s hard to please guests !

Thank you for the review! It is actually walkable… I’ve walked many times . There are 2 ways to walk downtown. One is along main road - which is s busy this time of year and the other is by cutting through the neighborhood across the road. Direct route .9 miles to heart of downtown. Alt route is 1.2 miles Obviously to walk downtown either route, , it requires a certain level of fitness…. But it is a quick drive by car as well!! Easy access to Highlands shopping and esraurants Thanks again Carole

Emma I am sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay at our cabin…it’s a log cabin so although there are plenty of windows, the walls are made of logs so there is a difference . Just to be clear, I offered you a full refund or the option of the cabin and provided the listing. You chose to stay at the cabin. I had it cleaned and all bed linens were changed on the the morning of your check in in order to accommodate your early check in request. So I’m perplexed that you thought that the linens smelled musty.???? I’ll be arriving myself tomorrow morning and will be sure to check all the bed linens Carole

Stephen Thank you for reviewing your stay. My past guests have loved the porch!! Sorry if you didn’t enjoy it. It is screened although due to the way it is constructed there is about a 3” gap from top beam to the ceiling joist. As far as furniture placement, the 2 large chairs snd loveseat in the living area face the fireplace and TV above it?!?! So not sure where a less award placement might be?? The pictures reflect that and no one has ever thought it should be laid out differently but everyone has an opinion! The chairs around the outside fire pit are outside in the weather so I apologize if fall leaves might have dropped in them during your stay! But not sure how that would render them unusable. I provide cleaning products and paper towels so a 5 minute wipe off would probably have fixed the problem. As far as close to town, the property is .9 miles from the heart of downtown Highlands if you choose to walk along Hwy 28 and a bit further if you cut through the adjoining neighborhood I’m 72 and have no problems walking into town but everyone has a different level of fitness!! Mark Thanks for your review! As stated in property details, the Guest House is 525 sq feet with a360sq ft screened “living” porch so describing as small is just re-stating the obvious! No central heat but bathroom has built in overhead heater and there are two sophisticated (with thermostats) space heaters for the living room and bedroom so I’m sorry if you overlooked these?? One of which looks like a small electric fireplace... But glad you enjoyed the real wood burning one in the living room Carole

Denise The power issue in the living room WAS only due to the GFI on the porch being tripped!! I explained the “fix” to you via text and phone conversation...unfortunately I was out of town myself on the Holiday weekend... When I returned, I pressed the red button and voila’ there was power!!! So sorry you weren’t able to figure that out so that your stay would have been more enjoyable and regret that you chose to give me a 3 star rating because of that easily fixable issue !!! Carole
