Wooded nostalgic getaway

enjoyed our too short one night stay. The house was huge, comfortable, and nostalgic. We enjoyed the hidden gems like favorite books, piano, and familiar items, trinkets, etc. that I grew up with. Would love to stay again!

Family gathering

So glad we found this as a small family gathering place for locals and for out of towners. The place was huge with plenty of space for talking and games. The pre lit tree was perfect and we had just enough decorations to make it festive. Loved the alexa availability to play Christmas and classic rock!

Property was very roomy with nice backyard to relax and play games in! House was very neat! Lots of activities to do in and around the house! Would recommend to anyone who is needing place to stay in the area! Communication with hosts was amazing! Great place!

Great Property

The house is very large and full of couches and chairs for large groups. The kitchen is large and fun to cook in. The location is great, the creek that flows across the property traverses a concrete weir or old crossing that creates a nice waterfall noise effect. The towns people were friendly and we had a great time.

Great getaway

Came to stay for a few nights with my husband and our almost three year old. It was like going back in time to stay at Grandma's house and we LOVED it. Our daughter loved the little toy area in the basement as well as running circles around the large house. Our three dogs loved the creek in the backyard - which they went in more than we'd like :) It is very centrally located to many hiking areas. We will stay longer next time!

This is a large house with beautiful surrounding yard. Hollywood could book this for a movie set in the 60’s! It is furnished extremely well with towels, blankets, kitchen supplies, cleaning and paper products and personal items such a shampoo. Quick reply from owner when contact was needed. We enjoyed the fire pit outside this early November weekend. Excellent accommodation I would happily use again.

Great family home

The house was very comfortable and clean. Full kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook for my family. My kids loved playing in the lower level with the toys and games. Wonderful big spaces to eat together but also space for quiet time. Several outside porches to relax and my kids loved the swing and backyard. Hosts communicated clearly and in a timely fashion. Very easy drive to Turkey Run and Shades S.P. We would love to come back again in the winter and just relax in the house.

Like going home to Grandma’s house

We rented this house so we could have a place to stay for the weekend, as well as have our family join us for a family Christmas celebration. The house and property are super accommodating for large groups to have places for 30 to sit down and eat. There is a corner in the basement that has fun things to keep children busy, as well as a ping png table and a foosball table. The owners are great at communicating and were kind to set up a Christmas tree and put table cloths on the tables to provide a festive atmosphere. There is a wonderful notebook that gives a ton of information about the house, as well as the surrounding area. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of nice towels. The place is very carpeted, and a bit outdated, but that really adds to the comfortable “going to Grandma’s house” for a get together feel. It was very accommodating for our family. The outside setting would be wonderful in warmer months. One morning we watched five deer romp and play in the yard. We were so thankful to find this place and enjoy a day with our family together since we live in Ohio.

The perfect getaway

Absolutely love this house/town and everything about it. If you’re looking for peace and quiet with a beautiful view of nature, this house is perfect. There’s enough room for all of us and the kids love it here. Mark and Mindy are as gracious and welcoming as anyone you’d ever want to meet. We will definitely be coming back

A stay in paradise

House was large, well furnished and very comfortable. Everyone was able to enjoy private space. When there was a power outage Mark made sure we had adequate candles and flashlights. He also informed us when power would likely come back on. All and all a very enjoyable stay.

We had such a good time!! It was 3 gals in their 49’s and 50’s hanging out to bake Christmas stuff and act goofy, we felt at home and it felt like being at our grandmas house!! The owners need to keep the house the way it is and never change a thing❤️ such a cozy and welcoming place!!
