Family Vacation to HHI

Our family had a wonderful time in Sea Pines at this property! The house was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We loved the area and the close walking distance to the private beach, which was very enjoyable for our group. Doug was very responsive and answered any and all questions we had. We’d definitely stay at this location again!

Great house, excellent access to Sea Pines bike trails

We loved the many bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, the proximity to the Salty Dog and the fabulous bike trails of Sea Pines (with bikes rented next to the Salty Dog). It's a pleasant walk on a nearby access path to the beach, where we saw lots of dolphins (the mammalian kind), skimmers, willets, plovers - fabulous.

New Year’s Family Getaway

House had everything advertised. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, easy beach access and very clean. Great communication with owner whenever we had questions. Highly recommended for guests wanting to bring your dog along for some beach time.

OUTSTANDING: location, amenities,size!

This home was simply perfect for us in every way! We were close enough to make it easy to hop on and off the beach for dawn walks, afternoon swimming, and evening strolls. The pool was a great little interim retreat too.

Wonderful Property

What a wonderful week! The house was roomy and well appointed. We had 8 adults and 4 children (ages 1-7) and it was perfect. Lots of room for private space and large areas for group gatherings. An easy walk to the beach and a great pool.

Location to beach was excellent! Close to the Salty Dog. The house was very well stocked. Everything you need to have a fun day at the beach. Kitchen had everything you would need to fix a meal. The house was a perfect setup for families.

Great location, great house

This was a perfect vacation for our family. Sea Pines was a fantastic resort place. The house was awesome and a very short walk to the beautiful beach, and we loved the beach toys and chairs thank you! Loved having the private pool at night to play in. Everything was awesome! We will be back (we might start looking for our own place in Sea Pines!)

Awesome experience!

A great home in a wonderful area of the island. The home suited the 4 adults and 4 teenage boys we had on our trip. The kitchen was well equipped to make dinners for all. We would recommend to anyone and will be back in the future!

A week at 2 Cedar Wax Wing

As usual, our stay was wonderful. With bedrooms and bathrooms for all, pool, and access to beach, it is a perfect house for us. Can not think of anything to change. We also spent lots of time on bikes.

Fantastic home and owners

Our stay was very last minute. The owners were more than accommodating!! We even had to stay an extra night and it was no issue! The home was very spacious and updated. The beach is a two minute walk and is very private and natural. I would recommend this home to anyone!

Perfect home for our family!

We LOVE Sea Pines and we especially love the area near South Beach! This home and location was perfect for our group! The open floor plan and two sitting areas gave us lots of room to spread out. The fact that all four bedrooms have a bathroom attached is SO NICE! Doug generously allowed us to use his beach chairs......THANK YOU! Also, the pool is wonderful after a fun day at the beach! Hope to stay here again on our next visit to HHI!

Great extended family getaway!

This place was absolutely perfect for our extended family of 8! Spacious house with plenty of gathering space and lots of quiet bedrooms. Great location! Only a few minutes walk to the beach and an easy 15 min stroll to Salty Dog Cafe and South Beach bike rentals. Very well appointed… lots of kitchen supplies, plenty of toiletries, even an abundance of beach chairs we could use. Loved the location, layout and setup of the place. Doug was a responsive and fabulous host. We’ll definitely come back next time we can gather the family in Hilton Head. 5 Stars!! Laura Scotty

Our family stay in Sea Pines at 2 Cedar Wax Wing

The house is beautiful! All furniture, bedding and linens are high end. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed. Most of what you need for the beach is supplied, along with 2 nice wagons to carry it all. The pool and seating area is a nice place to relax after the beach. The host is one of the best that I’ve dealt with in all my trips using VRBO or other sites. Highly recommend!

Amazing!

The house was amazing and the location perfect! We were beyond happy with the spacious house. Even bigger than it appeared online. Beds super comfortable. Nice quality linens. Short and enjoyable walk to the huge beach. Our first trip to Hilton head and love the island. We will be back and will certainly try to rent this house again. The pool was a perfect size for cooling off and kept the kids very happy when not at the beach!

Turning 90

We had a lovely stay at Sea Pines. the area is fantastic for family fun, easy walk to a beautiful beach not too crowded. the house fit 12 of us very comfortably. Kitchen was large and fully equipped. Each bedroom was nicely laid out for privacy and there were plenty of beautifully presented towels for each bathroom. Bathrooms had everything you needed including toothpaste, TP, soap and tissues. House was extremely clean. Doug was very prompt with his replies to my questions. thank you Doug for sharing your lovely home.

Great Hilton Head Home and Location!

Our first visit to Hilton Head with a party of 9 (+ two additional over the weekend) for a week. This place is exactly as advertised and wonderful for a large family, 4 couples or 4 golfers. Wonderfully close to the beach and in beautiful Sea Pines away from the crowds, yet close to all you'd ever want out of Hilton Head. Plenty of living space, outdoor gathering space, dining space and a Master Suite for everyone. Kitchen is also spacious and well appointed. The property shows a little of the typical wear and tear of a rental, but it does not distract from the comfort and convenience of the home. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you Doug for your attentiveness and a wonderful stay. Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent Stay!

The rental was nice and spacious and very clean! It's rare to find a property with king beds in every room and an en suite for everyone as well. Beach toys and wagons in the garage were so nice to have available. Owner was very attentive and answered any question that I had during the stay very quickly. We would rent this home again! For those with small children, there are a lot of doors but a few of the main doors have door alarms which was a nice feature when traveling with a busy toddler. Also, the pool opens up to the driveway. We were hoping it was fully enclosed because our toddler likes to roam and explore, but it really didn't cause much issues during the stay. Overall, great property, great location, very clean, and awesome owner to work with!

Sea Pines South Beach

Property is in a really nice locations 5-6 mins from beach. Interior is comfortable, beds and baths are fine. Kitchen is good size but tired, knives cannot cut butter. exterior of the house is very tired and poorly maintained. Owner quite responsive, grill needed to be replaced and was, heater control broke and was replaced right away, no complaints. There are 14 bikes in garage but you need to rent ones to use, very expensive. No parking pass so you need to buy one each week for each car. owner did eventually get ones for us. This property is pretty deep in Sea Pines located on the south side. If you only leave once a day it is ok, if you plan to leave 2-3 times a day you have just added 2 hrs in driving to get in and out of sea pines, which is just too long. The house needs a freshener up to continue to get the max rent it can. Lights are bad around the property, swimming pool needs water so must be a small leak and only one skimmer works. It’s not a bad house, I just think (our 5th year renting for a month) there are better value for the price.

Beautiful house that needs maintenance

Positive things: 1) the house is huge! The two living rooms are far enough apart that you can each watch something different and not disturb each other. But, close enough to where you can talk, if you would like. The 4 King bedrooms each with an ensuite bath is wonderful and uncommon; 2) The house location is great! You walk in between the two houses that are behind you and you are at the path to the beach! 3) The Beds are comfortable! 4) The host was very friendly. He answered many of my questions prior to me booking and was quick to respond. Not so positive: 1) After I made my payment the host was not as quick to respond. This was especially frustrating on day of arrival when we had an issue. And when there were 3 empty gas bottles and the one on the grill ran out while attempting to grill out our first time after I asked about the gas grill prior to arrival; 2) the yard and outside of the house needs to be sprayed. I received over 40 mosquito bites in less than an hour the first day. The pool area had ants all around it; 3) several of the TVs do not work (one cuts on and off, one had a bad plug to the cable box, one is missing a remote for the cable; 4) there are a lot of items that need maintenance. The icemaker leaks water in the floor, the gas stove ignitor is on the entire time you're cooking, boards on the deck and benches are rotten, toilets run, etc; 5) the house needs a deep clean. Mold was in the freezer, the showers had white soap scum all over, etc

spacious, clean, comfortable, with an easy path to the beach; highly recommended!

We had a wonderful family vacation at this property! This place was beyond expectations, and the photos do not do it justice. Doug (the owner) was very helpful with a quick response at every stage of the booking. The house was open, spacious, clean, and comfortable. All the fixtures, finishes, hardware, and appliances were very tasteful and of top quality. The furnishings were all very nice, but also very comfortable, casual, and kid-friendly. The kitchen was huge and well-equipped for all the cooks in the family, along with the 5 children playing under our feet. (Do be sure to bring your spices, salt & pepper, etc. as these items are not stored on site.) The huge dining table seated all 13 of us and more! The 4 king-size bedrooms with private baths, three of them with private decks, were perfect for our four couples and stocked with ample linens and a starter supply of basic toiletries. The day beds (with trundles) in two of the bedrooms were perfect for our older children, ages 6 and 5. And there was plenty of space in the bedrooms for our younger children (2, 2, and 1) to sleep in pack-n-plays that we brought. The path to the beach was easy and short, even for our toddlers. We all thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the lovely shaded courtyard and heated pool in the hot afternoons. The Sea Pines location was safe, quiet, wooded and shady, with endless bicycle trails, uncrowded beaches, and more activities than we could find time for. We took advantage of golfing, sailing, an eco-boating tour for the kids, bicycling, the family show at the lighthouse, pony rides, shopping, trolley rides, and historical sites. Throughly satisfied in every way possible! A few picky suggestions: 1. Some stepping stones that connect the back porch to the path in the neighbor's yard and on to the beach would be helpful; and also leading over to the outdoor shower. We weren't sure if it was okay to cross through their back yard, and we didn't find the shower for a while. 2. We found ourselves wishing there was a way to lock the doors from the inside that was not so easy to unlock. Our 2-year-olds figured out how to work the locks immediately, so even though we locked the doors when we were inside, we were nervous they might unlock one and wander out to the pool, especially with so many doors that open to the courtyard. 3. A blow dryer or two in the house would have been nice; I don't travel with one anymore as most places now provide one.
