Relaxing weekend at this scenic farmhouse. Quiet location with lots of outdoor space for our long walks. Wood-stove hot tub was a nice treat on a cold and windy afternoon. Great chats with the grounds keeper about local sites and his sustainable farming endeavors. Will definitely visit again!
We loved the property and the surrounding location of this quaint farmhouse. It was fully stocked with outdoor activities. We especially appreciated having everything we needed to make an outdoor fire. Very enjoyable stay!
This property is a gem . The mornings and evenings are the best with sunrise , sunset, birds, crickets , and a beautiful moon . Sit in the front porch rocker and you will not want to leave .
We had an amazing stay at the property! Surprised my mom for her 70th birthday and had so much fun. Loved sitting on the front porch watching the cars go by and the sheep grazing across the street. Swam in the pool, relaxed in the wood fired hot tub, played lawn games, and built a fort with the human sized lincoln log set. I'd highly recommend this property for any family looking to have a relaxing weekend in the country.
This house is absolutely lovely, and I loved reading the history about it provided by Cally! Cally also left some great restaurant recommendations, which we followed. The house feels completely remote but you can be in some great towns in 20 minutes or less, or hiking or tubing or running or biking - pretty amazing. We spent a ton of time each day in the pool, which was gorgeous and well-maintained. Can't thank you enough for providing this space to get lost for a few days before the chaos of fall.
Exceptional! House clean, full of charm, kitchen fully stocked, property well maintained, charming old barns, lots of room for pets to enjoy, fire heated hot tub magical. The owner was helpful and available when we had questions. Close to New Hope, Lambertville and Frenchtown. Close to the 60 mile towpath for biking or walking. We will be back soon!! Tacy and Brooks
This home truly can be visited all year long. The pool must be great on warmer months. The home sits on 13 acres, but is surrounded by farms, large and similar lots. Across the road, fully open farmland, and wonderful sunsets.Photos and descriptions are accurate, but once inside Turtle Stop Farm, subtle and thoughtful details keep turning up. Cally makes full effort for the comfort of her guests...wood stove was great, lots of firewood, and very comfortable King bed in MBR. Loved every inch of Turtle Stop Farm! Guest booklet lets you know everything about the area. Very resourceful and well documented...Thanks again Cally!
I spent a summer week on the farm with my two teenage sons, two dogs, and my husband. It was wonderful! We were looking for a beautiful, low-key vacation full of swimming and enjoying being outside. The house was everything I hoped for. I appreciated the views and wildlife from every area -- pool area, lawn, and front porch. My boys swam constantly. My husband was most appreciative of the air conditioning, which did an amazing job keeping such an old home at the perfect temperature. Of course, the dogs loved every moment of everything. Have the fenced in pool area was amazing -- we could enjoy ourselves and not constantly worry about leashes.
This is the place for you if you want to relax, play yard and indoor games, take in amazing views and walks, and binge a bit of TV. We also had good nights sleep. If you have accessibility issues the stairwell and stone patio may be hard to navigate.
We had such a wonderful time here. The house was so pretty and the kitchen was gorgeous. We only left to get food. Other than that, we spent all our time there. Cally is so responsive and the groundskeeper was such a nice guy. We loved it here
We are always so sad when it’s time to leave this magical spot . If you need to unwind , this is your place . If you need to sit on a rocking chair on the front porch to watch a sunset and listen to birds, this is your place . If you want the most refreshing dip in a pool after a warm day , this is your place . The rustic vibes add to the magic …. We add a day to our stay each year if we can .
We came here for a quiet getaway for a milestone birthday and it was perfect. Love the setting, beautiful views from the property and when walking nearby. The house is so cozy and the wood stove keeps it nice and toasty. The wood-fired hot tub is worth the extra $50.
You probably won't find a more beautiful, peaceful, delightful place. Out in the countryside but so much to do near by. Listening to the sheep, ducks and chickens was home for me. Has everything we needed inside and out. Much thought by the owner has gone into this home to make it a wonderful place to stay. The owner was a very so friendly and a delight to talk to. Definitely would recommend staying here.
We wanted a few days away from the hustle and bustle of life and found ourselves transported back in time to a place of peace and comfort and warmth around a fire in a cozy farmhouse with everything we needed to just enjoy some being together.
Turtle Stop Farm provided us with a beautiful, peaceful and magical place to hang our hat while our home was under renovation. Our host took very good care of us and we will always appreciate that. We highly recommend Turtle Stop Farm--be prepared to step back in time and feel refreshed.
This property is a gem. From a beautiful home from the 1700’s to beautifully appointed rooms to a wonderful front porch , lovely gardens , chickens, ducks and sheep , and pool that was wonderful to swim and float in …. The only disappointment was having to leave -our stay just wasn’t long enough . We will be back j again !
We loved it so much I was tempted to gatekeep this place by not leaving a review so we can have it all to ourselves ;)
Everything about it is absolutely wonderful. It was like staying at a good friend’s house. It truly feels like a home away from home versus a cold rental. The amenities were fabulous - imagine looking up at the stars whilst soaking in a wood-fired hot tub with a glass of champagne in hand - can’t beat it! It was thoroughly and thoughtfully appointed, with every need thought of. We can’t wait to return. Don’t hesitate to book for a relaxing time in the countryside.
Cally and her property manager, Kerry, were wonderful hosts and we couldn't have asked for a better week. The property is idyllic and well kept and the home had us musing for hours about who'd lived there before and what life had been like then. Our 2.5- and 3-year old cousins spent hours romping in the huge grassy yard, watching the ducklings, and splashing in the pool, and Cally even brought over a freshly hatched chick to show them on the day she was around. We couldnt have asked for a nicer time. Highly recommend!
WOW! The home and property are incredible. The historic nature of the home has been restored to perfection, and the antique furniture and time-appropriate finishes (mixed with updated appliances!) were a perfect blend of charm and convenience. We had an incredible time. The sunsets were simply beautiful on the porch. Perfect with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers! The area has so many fun places to explore. It felt like stepping back in time and the pace of life matched.
The owner, Cally, was wonderful with her communication and offers. She responded quickly and made sure we had everything we needed. We’ll be back!
The property was the perfect setting for a relaxing and intentional New Years holiday. We arrived before check-in and drove over to Milford for brews and delicious food at Decendants Brewery. And then made our way back to the house to enjoy a hot tub plunge and toast the New Year! Comfortable beds, fresh linens, and rooster’s sunrise crow the next morning were the best- we sipped our coffee in the hot tub, enjoyed rocking in our robes on the front porch, and walked the farm greeting both the chickens and baby ducks. Our young boys enjoyed our short getaway and have already requested a return. Which may have been why they left their jackets in the front closet after check out… (they were promptly and most gracefully shipped back to us by the property owner- THANK YOU) All in all, it was a beautiful way to start a new year and we are most appreciative to be able to experience it!
