Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay - Country Cottage

Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay is a welcoming place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of Southern Tasmania. Located in the gorgeous seaside village of Blackmans Bay, only 15 minutes south of Hobart city centre and close to the shopping centre of Kingston, our cottages are flexible in the range of options available.

Country Cottage, a spacious 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house, accommodates up to 11 people.

Country Cottage offers 1 queen, 7 single and 1 double futon beds. We also provide cots and high-chairs for your little ones.

Accommodation 15 minutes to Hobart CBD.
Only a 5 minute drive to Kingborough Sport Centre KSC.

All cottages are fully furnished and self contained, including linen and we provide all of the items that you need to self cater. Both locations have BBQ's provided.

Come and stay with us and enjoy the magnificent views across the mouth of the Derwent river and out to Iron Pot, the oldest operational lighthouse in Australia. With only a 400 meter walk to Blackmans Bay Beach this is an ideal base for your relaxing holiday in Hobart.

Our aim is to provide excellent accommodation at the best possible price. Discounts may apply for multiple nights and your pets are welcome and can be securely kept in our fully fenced yard.

Blackmans Bay is a central base for exploring many great Tasmanian attractions, including The Antarctic Division Headquarters, The Huon Trail, Tahune Air Walk, Hastings Caves, World Heritage Area, Port Arthur, National Parks, MONA Museum of Old and New Art and of course all the sites of Hobart.

Great location

Very close to beach, shops and public transport. Excellent value. Spacious and very comfortable. Fabulous views. Would definitely seek this property again next time we are visiting family in Hobart.

Ok House, Difficult Host

Our stay was pleasant enough. The location is great for exploring Tasmania's south coast and Bruny Island, which we did. During our stay we noticed quite a bit of wear and tear to the property. After we left we were charged $200 for stains to the couch, which we had hardly used. We did not eat or drink there and certainly didn't spill anything on the couch. We were provided low resolution photos of a grey couch as evidence, despite the couch in question being navy. Communications with Stefan were upsetting and made our holiday to Tasmania less enjoyable - a trip we had been very much looking forward to after a tough year in lockdown.

Cedar Cottage was perfect for our stay in Hobart. There were 9 in our party, 7 boys aged 13-17 and two adults. The house had a separate wing for the boys which worked out well. My room was upstairs and spacious. Our coach slept on the fold out couch in the upstairs living area. I cooked the boys breakfast and diner daily in the well appointed kitchen. The reverse cycle heater in the downstairs living area worked a treat and helped thaw out many cold boys. I would recommend Cedar Cottage for a group such as ours.

Weekend away

Our stay at Cedar Cottage (country cottage) was very pleasant. The house was spacious & very clean. 7 family members stayed in the house. The front door has a very large gap and needs something to stop the cold wind coming through otherwise all was good.
