Welcome to "The Villa" - a modern home with a secure garage, just a 10-minute walk from Hobart's largest shopping centre and a 10-minute drive from the airport and city centre. Relax in the stylish outdoor entertaining area, complete with a BBQ. Inside, find reverse cycle air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms.
The Space:
The main bedroom is beautifully furnished with elegant bedlinen and an extremely comfortable queen-size bed — the perfect place to unwind after your day’s adventures exploring Hobart. There’s even a wall-mounted Smart TV so you can curl up and relax in comfort, much like an explorer retreating to base camp after a long expedition.
The second bedroom features two comfortable single beds, while double glazing throughout the villa ensures a peaceful night’s sleep. In the lounge, one of the sofas converts into a comfortable sofa bed, offering extra flexibility for families or small groups.
If you feel like cooking, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a dishwasher and microwave. Although with so many fantastic cafés, restaurants, and waterfront dining options nearby, you may prefer to leave the cooking to Hobart’s locals.
The laundry includes a convenient washer/dryer combo, and outside you’ll find a fully fenced private backyard with outdoor seating — the ideal place for a morning coffee or evening BBQ before planning your next Tasmanian adventure.
Of course, the villa also includes WiFi, board games, a DVD player, and DVDs to help keep everyone entertained during your stay at Shackleton’s Villa.

Hobart’s largest shopping centre, Eastlands, is just an easy 10-minute walk away, offering supermarkets, specialty stores, cafés, fast food outlets, and Village Cinemas for a relaxed night in after a day of exploring.
Blundstone Arena, picturesque Bellerive Village, and Bellerive Beach are only a 15–20 minute walk away, perfect for enjoying the waterfront, local cafés, and cricket or AFL events. There’s also a bus stop conveniently located right outside the villa, making it easy to navigate your Tasmanian journey.
Hobart’s CBD, Salamanca Place, and Hobart Airport are all just a 10-minute drive away, while some of Tasmania’s finest vineyards and cellar doors can be reached within 10–15 minutes — ideal for those wanting to discover the wild beauty and flavours of the island, much like the great Antarctic explorers once did.
Getting Around:
To enjoy Hobart and surrounds its best that you have a car, however if you need the use of public transport there's a bus stop out front and a regular service that travels to the CBD.
Other Things to Note:
For larger groups, the houses next door (The Residence and The Retreat) are also available on Airbnb and can sleep 13 people, so the entire property can sleep a total of 23 guests.

We had a wonderful time — the house was very neat and clean, the rooms were comfortable, bathrooms and toilets spotless, and the kitchen well equipped. We also really appreciated the great location, close to both the shopping Centre and the CBD, which made our trip very convenient.
The property is extremely spacious and luxurious. The hosts have thought of everything.Very close to the city and shopping centre nearby was very handy.Would definitely stay again.
