We loved the staff and the location. The hotel is charming. We were in the family room in the basement which we were okay with but I think would have preferred to be in the upstairs. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the breakfast in the perfect old world breakfast room.

The best hotel checkin experience anywhere - ever! Our host Sabina gave us the warmest welcome, showing us to our room, and ensuring we knew about our complementary breakfast and anything we might need to know. The hotel is beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was easy to park and meander down to the Salamanca Markets and restaurants.

The Macquarie Hotel is in an excellent location. As a historic building, it is a little quirky but charming. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in supplying breakfasts when I needed to leave early in the mornings or to check in later in the evening after the reception was closed. They were also very helpful with my laundry needs. I would very much recommend the Macquarie Hotel for a great stay at a reasonable price.
