About this property

The Blue House City Outlook near CBD and Nature

  • Start the day with an easy walk downhill into Hobart’s vibrant CBD, browse Salamanca’s waterfront, or follow the Rivulet Track, where you might spot a platypus on the way to historic Cascade Brewery. Venture up to Knocklofty Reserve for sweeping views across Hobart and the River Derwent. Back home, classic character meets contemporary comfort, with elevated city outlooks, a modern kitchen, two workspaces and a leafy private garden where fruit trees set a peaceful scene for your morning cuppa.
Spend time together in the inviting living area, whether curling up with a book, catching a film on the TV or planning the day over coffee. Cooking is easy in the well-equipped kitchen, with an oven, stovetop, dishwasher and everyday appliances on hand. The four-seater dining table invites everyone to linger over meals and a bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir.

Outside, the private garden feels like a hidden pocket of Hobart, with timber decking, leafy planting and fruit trees creating a lush setting for sunlit coffee, reading or enjoying the fresh air.

Upstairs, two bedrooms provide restful retreats—one set with a queen and the other a double. Each is equipped with its own dedicated workspace and opens onto the deck, offering a sunny spot to start the day in the fresh air. The bathroom makes unwinding easy with a bathtub, overhead shower and heated towel rack.

Everyday practicalities are covered with a washing machine, drying racks, an iron and an ironing board. Wall-mounted radiator heating in the living and dining areas brings cosy comfort on cooler days, while Wi-Fi keeps you connected throughout your stay.

Please note: The fireplaces are decorative and not available for use. An internal staircase connects the levels and may not suit guests with limited mobility.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

West Hobart puts the city’s best-known experiences within easy reach. Wander downhill into the CBD for cafés, galleries and shopping, continue to Salamanca for waterfront dining and its Saturday market, or explore the historic cottages and village atmosphere of Battery Point. Hill Street Grocer in South Hobart is the closest food store, ideal for picking up fresh produce and local ingredients.
Nature is equally close. Follow the Hobart Rivulet Track and watch for platypuses along the waterway as you make your way towards Cascade Gardens and the historic Cascade Brewery. For a change of scenery, Knocklofty Reserve is just a six-minute drive away, with bushland trails and sweeping views across Hobart and the River Derwent.

Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
