"This place is the perfect, quiet and cozy getaway. The house had a carport that came in handy with the 15 inches of snow we had during our stay. Most places in Duluth/Superior are only a few minutes away and everyone in the area was super nice. The host was respectful and polite. "Property is in disrepair, and the housekeeping is majorly lacking. Major problem at check-in: the machine that creates the magnetic strip keys is so weak that the keys lose their ability to open your door. We were left sitting outside the end entrance with all our luggage and not able to enter the hotel. Our room was dirty - obvious stains on the sheets, previous guest's fruit on the window sill, water spots on the mirror, toothpaste on the counter, french fry in the microwave, grime in the fridge. On a positive note, the hotel was quiet, the room had a microwave and fridge, and the pool and hot tub were nice. I had a reservation to stay here again on our way back through Superior, but I have canceled that reservation. I could overlook the peeling paint and old carpet. The lack of decent cleaning is inexcusable."
