Glacier View Getaway on the Kilcher Family Homestead in Alaska the Last Frontier

Your adventure awaits.. see update at end. This is our guest cabin built on the Klcher Homestaed. You can hike to Kilcher Beach and have a picnic only a mile away.

This cozy guest log cabin awaits you with awesome views of Kachemak Bay, Homer Spit and pristine glaciers, abundant wildlife and a ribbon of hiking and cross-country skiing trails through the peaceful Kilcher Family Homestead. It is a great place to get away from it all after a long day of fishing, to curl up with a great book, complete an art project or just relish the quiet serenity (in this case in early mornings and late afternoon/evening).

Glacier View Getaway is fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable including a full-size kitchen, kitchenware and linens. There are two comfortable bedrooms, Jacuzzi bathtub, dishwasher, propane stove, washer and dryer, deck furniture and propane grill.

We are building our dream home nearby beyond the spruce trees.

The beauty of the bay, the kiltcher family homestead, the beach access, all of it was amazing! Catkin is the kindest soul and really cared about our experience! Alaska trip

We arrive to postcard views and the most beautiful scenery God has created. Cozy, comfortable and amazing cabin and Tom was a super host to help with anything. This cabin made our first trip to Alaska simply amazing.

Magical Property

We had a wonderful time at the Glacier View Getaway on the Kilcher Homestead! The home has stunning views from multiple areas and there are unique family heirlooms and pictures throughout which give it such a personal touch. The home was well equipped, clean and comfortable.Catkin was such a gracious host! We connected with her a few times and met a number of other family members in our hikes to the beach. It was enjoyable to go on the tour on site to hear about the history of the homestead. It was truly a memorable stay and we look forward to coming back.

Freakin Amazing

The cabin was so beautiful, as was the surrounding property. We saw moose behind the cabin both nights we were there. Very thoughtful of our hosts to stock the pantry with plenty of everything. It was nice being able to do some laundry while we were there. The gravel road we had to take was super rough in one area, but no big deal - just take it very slow if you have a small car.

Peaceful wilderness retreat!

Our family of 5 enjoyed Glacier View cabin immensely. The cabin was as described and better yet. Thoughtfully appointed and clean, we enjoyed our 3-night getaway on the Kilcher Homestead property. We all loved watching the mama moose with her two calves feed in the field in the early morning and late evening. It’s was a perfect opportunity to slow down in the midst of our 2 week family road trip. We hope to return again someday.

Amazing

We loved Glacier View! It had more than we needed. So nice to come back from fishing and hiking to such an amazing house. The views were nonstop and we saw moose every evening and one night a bear walked casually through the yard eating. Catkin was great to talk with and helpful! Would love to spend an entire week there! It’s perfect!!

Our family had a great stay at this rustic homestead outside of Homer. A bit hard to get to but once you're there, you won't want to leave! The cabin itself was spacious and clean, well-equipped kitchen, washer-dryer, everything we needed. The views were nothing short of stunning! The pics don't do it justice. And the local wildlife! A mama moose and her two babies came by one morning, along with a family of sandhill cranes and a large porcupine. Just an incredible experience for our first time in Alaska--highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Glacier View. The view was amazing. We saw a moose and her 2 babies walk across the property and we saw a coyote on our walk to the beach. Two sand hill cranes performed their mating dance for us. Our host was accommodating and the cabin is adorable. Highly recommend staying here!

Loved this VRBO! It was clean, perfect size for 3-5 people. We enjoyed two days there. We were able to see three moose and some sand hill cranes. Loved the location and views all around. The host was quick to respond and full of knowledge. Enjoyed a hike down to the beach and found some cool shells. Will plan on returning in the future.

It was such an amazing experience. Catkin was a wonderful host, and did everything she could to make it a great atay. We saw moose everyday in the yard, and the views were spectacular. I cannot recommend it enough.

Rexlax with a spectacular view

The cabin is very clean and absolutely beautiful with a breathtaking view. We saw a mama moose her her baby out of the living room window in the early morning. Our host Catkin was easy to communicte with. We highly recommend staying there..

Great Cabin

OMG!
