Pioneer Cabin, Stunning Views, Glacier, Park, Kayaks, Fishing, Bear Viewing.

Welcome to Between Beaches Alaska, our self-catering accommodations are well-appointed. At this exceptional location, you can watch the sunrise over one beach and set over the other! Our unique, handcrafted Beach Cabins and Beach House (VRBO listing numbers 993127, 661493, 449876, 1587179,1620934, and 2073319 ), are located on MacDonald Spit, a scenic water taxi ride from the Homer Harbor through beautiful Kachemak Bay State Park. The cabins are only steps away from the sandy beaches where otters play & eagles soar. The Pioneer Cabin is surrounded by spruce and alder trees, offers spectacular views of bays, islands, and snow-capped mountains without standing in their shade. Built by Alaskan pioneers, this historical Cabin faces Kasitsna Bay and glows in the morning sunrise. Included in your stay are Necky kayaks, rowboats, BBQ with gas, a hammock, clam rakes, and buckets. Inside this cozy cabin, you will find a fully equipped kitchenette, mini apartment size stove with oven, a cozy full-size bed with heated mattress, a day bed, full linens, and electric heat. Attached to the cabin, but a separate entrance is a private bathroom with a kelp forest shower. Here you can view the sunset through a vintage bronze porthole while you are taking a shower! There is WIFI from your beach chairs and inside the art gallery that is always open. There is excellent cell reception throughout the property. Choose from a variety of activities like kayaking, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, beachcombing, tide pooling, birding, bear viewing, glacier hikes, and more. SUP boards can be rented through True North Kayak in Homer Harbor prior to your departure. There is also offshore halibut fishing out of Seldovia. You are welcome to use the wood-fired hot tub and sauna, there is plenty of wood, an ax and chopping block are nearby for your use. Whether you come to relax or play, enjoy an evening beach fire as the sunsets. During your stay, you may visit our art gallery and enjoy art insulations throughout the property. Experience Alaska like never before!
*Winter rates are due to our cabins being "dry". In Alaska, this means no running water. We provide mountain spring water and an outhouse, but no shower or flushing toilet during the winter months. Baña (sauna) and hot tub are also available year-round.*
Please note the water taxi fee is not included.

Rustic cabins and kitchens. Artful details all around the property- blown glass, fired ceramics, metal work, colorful buoys, Einstein lightbulbs, birch wood, and wood details. Great views all around with private beaches on both sides. Staff is very personal and attentive, and you can tell genuinely wnts their guests to have a great time.

A Gem in Alaska
Between Beaches was a perfect birthday get away. They had everything we needed in the cabin. The views were amazing and breathtaking. We planned on doing activities during our stay but the weather was so nice during our short stay we ended up beach bumming. Will definitely be back.

Perfect AK getaway
Awesome setup for couples. Beautiful spot and great hospitality. We’re Alaskans that have explored a lot of the State. This little get away is a must. It’s easy, clean and she’s already got the toys on site. Can’t recommend it enough.

Get you tide pool on
This was our second visit to Between the Beaches. We planned our trip around a large minus tide. Awesome tide pool exploration on top of everything. Awesome trip. Be sure to dig some cockle and eat them, they are a delicacy in Britain.

Between Beaches Stay
The location of Between Beaches is amazing. It is serene and private. The ceramic art and overall decor of the entire property is very well done. I appreciate rustic charm, but the cabin was not as clean as I would expect at this price point. The shelves were dusty and there were cob webs in the corners. The space was small, but the beds we're comfortable and the space heater was just enough. We enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks, and hiking on the spit.

Perfect - exactly as I had hoped
Our stay was amazing! Between Beaches Pioneer cabin was very quaint and rustic however had everything we needed! The call of the bald eagles was heard almost around the clock (a good thing) and several, including fledglings, visited often. This is an ideal place for a getaway - I wish we lived up here as I would be a frequent guest! Kristi was very welcoming and I am looking forward to having some of her beautiful art in my home! We just left MacDonald spit a few hours ago and I wanted to rate my experience before I return to the grind! (I should note that we were there during the fire ban ... and did not have the best weather but it was still an awesome stay!). Highly recommend!!
