  • Our secluded ohana (guest home) features a grand, unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. The gentle breezes and typically sunny days of our small local neighborhood make this charming hideaway perfect for guests seeking tranquility, privacy, and convenience in a comfortable climate. Whales can be seen (and sometimes heard) from your lanai during their visit to our waters. Unaffected by any surrounding light, the night time is equally enchanting as the stars fill the full canopy of sky. However, all conveniences are so close you'll lack for nothing. Located only 1 mile from quaint, authentic Honokaa, all the amenities and services you may need are simply 5 minutes away. Famous attractions such as Waipio Valley, with its black sand beach, are a short drive as are waterfalls, beaches, and all recreational opportunities. If relaxing at home is your preference, you can enjoy the swimming pool that we share with our guests.

The location is so peaceful and quiet. You can hear the whales breach down below. You have a pool to yourself with a million dollar view. Just wish it wasn’t a full moon - can only imagine how good star gazing would be here with no moon light.

We just finished 22 days staying at one of the once relaxing places we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world! So serene and so quiet....A beautiful well stocked beautiful small home looking at the ocean with nothing infront of you except nature. The large comfortable deck was closed in at one end so no matter what the weather we could be outside.Rachel was the perfect host, always available and always helpful!If you want to get away from it all and enjoy paradise, this is it!

This was our 5th stay at this idyllic home. We keep coming back because of the beautiful facilities, lovely pool, the extensive ocean-view lanai for watching the sunrise and sunset (and for grilling dinner), the striking peace and quiet, the starry evening sky. We cannot help but RELAX and UNWIND! Rachel is a fantastic host; she's attentive but not intrusive in the least (her home is on the same property). The home is 15 minutes from Waimea (we love "The Fish and the Hog" restaurant) and about 40-ish minutes from fantastic shore diving at Puako. Pretty far from Kailua-Kona. If you are looking for a place to truly get away, this is the place!

Incredible ocean view from lanai!

Rachel is a very helpful host who respects your privacy. The lanai was spectacular - recommend buying an air mattress in Waimea and sleeping out on the lanai. Honokaa is a sweet town with some old Hawaiian buildings worth exploring.

The view of the vast Pacific Ocean is the gem of this property. Clean, classy and convenient. Honokaa is a short 2 mile drive and has everything you need. Tex’s malasadas are amazing!

We had a great stay at Rachel’s place. We were visiting friends in the neighborhood so the location was perfect for us. The house is roomy and everything we needed. The bed was comfy. Beautiful lanai views for morning coffee, meals and sunset. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. I would definitely book this wonderful place again.

Beautiful Retreat

Rachel’s guest home was in the perfect location for us. It is out in the country, with nothing obscuring your view of the ocean. You cannot reach the ocean from this location because you are high above it. But the views are outstanding, sun rise, moon rise and set, and stars. Home is very clean, well furnished and comfortable bed. Rachel was a great host; she provided good suggestions for nearby hiking and sightseeing and fresh fruit from her trees, but never intruded. Would definitely stay again.
