A few kinks but nothing that would take away from the beautiful property just 10 minutes from the most beautiful waterfall. Didn’t need to leave though because all the activities and fun to be had right at the rental. So much fun and so relaxing, would rent again.
We had a very nice stay, easy to check in, communication was awesome! There is so much to do while you’re staying there, the kids ages 5-9 absolutely loved the fishing and swimming. Thank goodness we didn’t bring inner tubes with us, because our little ones would love to do that slide.. will probably be coming back when they’re teenagers lol
This place was perfect for our family, the lake is definitely swim at your own risk for the younger kids. If you or your kids can’t hold their body weight for a full 5 seconds, the zip line is not for them. There were plenty of life vests in all sizes and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. We had a great time, would definitely stay again if we ever find ourselves in the area.
The house had everything we needed. It was a great gathering place for our family. Beautiful & peaceful property, away from the hustle and bustle of the rat race. Use Apple Maps to find it. Google maps doesn’t exactly take you there.
We had a great time at this property with family. There were other houses nearby, but it felt very secluded and safe. Beds were comfortable. Lots of clean towels. The kids loved the kayaks, hot tub and playing ping pong. The adults enjoyed the large fire pit. Would definitely come back. We all agreed we would like to come in the summer to enjoy all the water activities. Andy was very responsive and helpful. We cooked all meals except for his suggestion of 450 North, which was absolutely delicious.
Came back for the second time, charmed to find a SLIP IN SLIDE right by the house so you can ride the tube down the hill and into the lake. We easily fit 11 people in the tight cabin. Couch was a huge improvement. There is not the two little couches seen in the photos. There is a sectional recliner. Loved this stay. The only thing is the lake is gross! But we used the paddels and used them to row the trapoline under the zipline so people can jump onto the trampoline. Had a great stay!
Loved the seclusion and access to the lake. The lake is very deep. We couldn't touch the bottom even along the shore, which made it a little nerve-wracking having my little ones swim but we did use floaties. Loved all the "fun stuff" included with the rental. I would recommend taking toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, big box of plastic utensils, and trash bags. We had to buy these items upon arrival. Everyone loved swimming, zip lining, floating, slip-and-slide, and trampoline. We caught some fish and a turtle! Made some great memories with the family.
I would like to start by saying this a very unique property that had plenty of space for our group and offered many amenities that we enjoyed. How ever the house doesn't map correctly online and it took us to the wrong location and when I called they had no way of telling me where to go, luckily after some driving around we did find the right house. When we got to the property the grass was very tall and hadnt been trimmed. Inside the house it seemed there had been no cleaning crew since the last guest. There was moldy food in the microwave and molding stinky dishes in the dishwasher, dirty linen, ect.Which was very disappointing. We took photos to show the host if they would like.

Beautiful property, overall just okay
Pros: I hosted a women’s retreat here and we definitely enjoyed the scenic views. As a group of 12 we had plenty of space and plenty of beds. I also appreciated the host letting us stay late Sunday. It’s a beautiful property. I also loved the fire pit and use of firewood. There were plenty of dishes and the dishwasher was great to have. I also had a hard time finding the place but the host was very responsive to me calling for directions which I really appreciated!
Cons:
The main complaint was the lack of essentials such as soap and toilet paper. There was a roll and a half of toilet paper and 2 nearly empty soap dispensers and 1 empty soap dispensers upon arrival. No paper products. This was not going to work for a 3 day stay with 12 people. We ended up having to make a trip to the store for these items. There were also wads of hair in the shower which some in my group complained about and we cleaned up ourselves. There was also mold in the coffee pot. It was not the cleanest place I have ever stayed though being more of a cabin I can understand some of that. We used the hot tub once and the jets would not turn off, spurting water everywhere. We had to use a hose to refill it and it took a really long time to fill and reheat so we were not able to use it a second time. If there had been info on how to use to hot tub and notice that it had issues that would have been helpful. Just being more clear about essentials provided and not provided would also be helpful.
Overall this place was perfect for our family gathering. Lots of things to do for every age group. There were a few things that could use some maintenance, but if you’re looking for a place at this price point with a private lake, I’m not sure you can beat it.
LOVED our stay at Lake Escape! We had 3 families stay for "cousin camp", which included 8 kids ages newborn - 9, and everyone had an absolute blast! The kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need for cooking, plenty of sleeping space with beds and 2 huge couches, tons to do at the lake, fully stocked game cabinet, and the detached man cave was excellent for the adults to be loud watching sports and playing games late into the night while the children were safe and sound sleeping in the main house. Everything was cabin/lake house quaint; don't expect a 5 star resort from a cabin stay, more clean, functional, and orderly cabin vibes. We will be back for a long weekend for sure!
Our family takes a yearly trip to spend time together making memories. This place was just what we needed. The 15 of us had the best time acting like kids at the lake on the slip-n-slide, zip line & all the other toys available. We even got to have a fish fry with the fish we caught. If you’re looking for a place to make memories off the beaten path this is the place. It’s not a 5 star resort but it’s definitely a family & pet friendly memory making adventure. We are looking forward to coming back. Thanks for sharing your hidden treasure with us.
