Hope Lake

Very nice place to stay. Rooms were just a bit on the smaller side.

The location of the Whitehall Hotel is excellent, and overall the hotel itself was very comfortable. The service from the other staff members was also good, and we were quite happy with our stay in general. Unfortunately, our check-in experience was extremely unpleasant because of the attitude of the female front desk employee whose name began with an “A.” When I told her that I needed parking, she repeatedly asked me the same question three or four times. I clearly answered “Yes” several times, yet she continued and said, “I’m asking you.” I honestly did not understand why a simple check-in conversation needed to feel like an interrogation. What made it worse was her attitude throughout the interaction. She repeatedly rolled her eyes while speaking with me and came across as extremely unfriendly and disrespectful. I was traveling with my family to enjoy our trip, not to be questioned or treated with obvious annoyance by a hotel employee. It is unfortunate because the hotel itself, its location, and the rest of our stay were very good. One employee’s behavior unnecessarily added a very unpleasant experience to an otherwise enjoyable trip. I hope hotel management takes this seriously and provides appropriate customer-service training. Guests should be treated with basic courtesy and respect, especially at check-in, which is their first impression of the hotel.
