Our stay at the orange house.
The house was a good location for us as home base while exploring from Dangriga to Placencia and beyond. We really enjoyed the breeze in the evenings on the veranda and the early mornings on the roof top. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning in the bedrooms a life saver. It was a comfortable house. The only downside was the four sets of multiple keys, especially at check-in when we were unfamiliar with everything. Seems like a small thing, but it was a challenge to navigate in the heat.

Great villa
It was clean and bright! Exactly what we needed for our visit. Great communication with host and property manager. Would definitely recommend. Will be looking to stay there again on a future visit

Spacious, lovely home equipped with all the kitchen needs for cooking, towels, laundry facilities , 2 bikes, 2 queen beds that were comfy, A/C in bedrooms only, fans every where else. we enjoyed the 2 large decks with one covered for.shade. Was quieter here than in Hopkins village. Restaurants within walking distance. Walk across and down the road a block to the beach access. Beaches are sandy, long and beautiful here. Owner was very responsive and property manager accommodating and friendly. We had a vehicle.to get around the larger area. Overall we.loved staying here.

Joli-Me Villa review
Joli-Me Villa is a nice 2 bedroom house located in wonderful little fishing village of Hopkins Belize convient to town and across the street from the caribbean ocean. We enjoyed our stay house location it was clean and local property manager stopped by to assure evereything is OK and checked if we needed anything. Hopkins is a great vacation spot if you looking for a laidback vacation at a beautiful rustic caribbean village on the Ocean. Great food and georgous beaches, highly recommended.

Clean and well kept
Property and house are well looked after and located nicely just out of town. There are a few restaurants with in walking distance or you can take a short drive into town and find lots of shopping and eating options. Beach access is a bit of a walk down to Big dock where there’s public access but it’s totally doable. The view from both the front deck and the top deck remind you of why you came here.

Just like living there
This house is in a great location between the village and resorts on one side and the marina and ex-pat hangout on the other. We were there for a month and we did encounter some issues with losing the Internet and other smaller things, but the property manager was so excellent and attentive. He fixed everything and Grant was in close communication whenever needed.

This property does not sleep six.
The house itself has a few problems. The door to the porch has key issues and is constantly locking itself - happened while most of us were outside so lucky we had someone inside that could get it open! The biggest problem is it's listed as sleeping six but it has two double beds and a fold out couch. This does not sleep six . We ended up leaving half our party there and then renting a hotel room in Hopkins. Not impressed.

Sorry to hear of your concerns. However, it is clearly stated in the "description" of the property that there are 2 bedrooms each with queen size beds and Futon that folds down. Unfortunately, as property owners know, we cannot be certain that people looking at property actually read the entire listing or just look at pictures. I have never had any guest mention key issues or doors locking themselves. The gate spring latches but does not lock. By reaching through the bars, it can easily be unlatched. If there are any issues, we provide contact information for Property Managers which is sent to guests by email prior to their arriving and it is suggested that guests print this information and bring along on their vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. The patio is a huge plus. I work remotely and the patio was my preferred room. Open to the jungle, the savannah and the ocean yet protected from sun and rain. We also enjoyed walks on the roof deck. The location of property across street from an open lot allowed unrestricted views of the ocean. We loved “people watching” the folks traveling down the road. BBQ grill on patio was used many times since we enjoy cooking outdoors.

Our Vacation

Lovely Hopkins property
This house is in a wonderful Hopkins location. There are many wonderful restaurants in walking distance. We scuba dived for a couple days and it was perfect. Anthony, the local caretaker was responsive and checked in frequently. Please make sure you have instructions on how to access all the locks in hand before you go. The week we were there, there was a bee issue, which Anthony and the owner were trying to take care of. We had read concerns about how to access the beach. There are plenty of places you can go to get there. One of our favorite places to eat was at the barracuda at beaches and dreams...a resort very close. The owners were quite welcoming and accommodating. In addition to diving at underwater Belize, we really enjoyed zip lining at bocowina national park and eating at the restaurant there. We loved our trip to the spice farm and cave tubed at St. Herman’s. No need to organize a tour at any of these places, just show up and you’ll be shown great hospitality.

Beautiful!

Beautiful home but uncomfortable in June
This home is big and beautiful just as it shows in the pictures. It had everything we needed to cook our own meals and the bedrooms and bathrooms were large and very nice. The TV and wifi worked well. We really appreciated using the washer and dryer, having access to the 2 bicycles and being in contact witht he friendly property manager. Our favorite thing about the house was sitting out on the veranda to enjoy our meals or looking at the views from the rooftop which was a wonderful place for morning yoga. Our biggest complaint with the house is that the airconditioning is only in the bedrooms. We stayed in June and we were never able to get the main part of the house cool enough to enjoy. We opened every window and ran all the fans all the time and it was always hot and uncomfortable. June is a very humid time of the year so this could be a function of the weather and time of year we visited. We did enjoy sitting outside as there was a wonderful breeze 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. Unfortunately, on the third night the breeze was not blowing and the mosquitos moved in so we played dominoes (found in the house) on the bed in in the cool bedroom. There is a house being built right next door so you do have construction to deal with from 8-5 M-F. The house is on a dirt road without access to the beach. We ended up spending our beach time across the street at Beaches and Dreams resort. They were very accomodating and since we had lunch there the kids were able to use the pool and volleyball net. We had a car which I would highly recommend. This house is out of the way and takes a while to get to. While in Hopkins we went to Bocawina National Park and did the ziplining which I would highly recommend. We also really enjoyed the drive to Hopkins on the Hummingbird Highway. I would recommend stopping at the blue hole and cave tubing. Keep in mind that Hopkins is a tiny undeveloped village. Part of the appeal is that you get to know the locals and experience their culture. This is not a resort town.

Exactly what we expected
The house was just as we hoped and very much in keeping with the photos. We enjoyed our stay at Hopkins and also had a great adventure snorkeling while here. We cooked numerous times and found everything we needed + coffee and such. The lot next door was undergoing construction although it was reasonably quiet and between 8-5. Anthony and Dana, the caretakers, also very kind and helpful. We would stay here again if booking a house in Hopkins. The use of the docks and beach was very nice - access was no problem. It was a pretty quiet time of year to visit.

We found the property to be as described. Everything was clean and worked well. The shower could have been hotter but I heard that was common everywhere in Hopkins. Great location, quiet but close to restaurants and shops.

Great Stay
We went to Beliz last year on a family cruise for the day. This is why we decided to go back this year. Hopkins was an unexpected surprise. We loved the town and the people. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There were plenty of tours to go on and a lot to see. The house was clean and modern. It was in a good location and allowed us to easily access the beach. We went to resorts to get to the beach as homeowners did not appreciate you walking through their yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would stay here again. Greg was extremely helpful and answered all of the questions I had.

Great Property Off The Beaten Path
House was excellent. Grant was responsive and able to accommodate a last minute short-term rental for my diving excursion. House is well located and in great shape. If traveling to Hopkins, keep in mind it is growing and still rough around the edges with minimal infrastructure in town. Grant provided a great list of places to eat, drink, and visit and everyone in town is very nice and willing to help which made it a fantastic trip.

Great property. Well furnished and great location near beach and many restaurants.
We loved our stay in Belize and a big part of that was staying at Joli Me Villa. The house was perfect for us; allowing us to walk to the beach, walk to restaurants, and even walked to Belize Underwater for a snorkeling trip. We spent just about every night on the rooftop deck enjoying a drink and looking at the stars. The kitchen was well equipped to help me prepare the couple of meals we didn't eat out and the air conditioned bedrooms were great for the night when we got back from exploring. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Belize.

The property was absolutely fantastic!
This is one of the best properties we have stayed in, both inside and out. The views are fantastic from the roof and there was always a breeze blowing through. Having a cold beer while laying in the hammocks was great after a day of traveling. And coffee on the deck in the morning was a good way to start the day. The interior was comfortable and we had everything that we needed to enjoy a few of our meals there. Anthony stopped by to see that all was well and to give us some personal insight to the area. He also showed us a close path down to the beach which we used daily. It was a great place to be located in for our travels to Riversdale, Placencia and Money River Town. Our best meal was at Frog's Point in Hopkins. All of the information that you sent came in very handy, especially the map which was spot on. Thank you Simone and Grant for letting us experience some of Belize from Joli-Me Villa. Virginia, Grace and Greg Shepard

Beautiful Property!
This property was beautiful and just as described in the listing. It's right across the street from the beach, and we found the neighbors were more than willing to let us walk through their property to get to the beach. It's a bit outside of Hopkins in a nice quiet area. Grant was very quick to reply and was great to work with. Our one complaint were the sand flies/fleas which seemed worse at the house than on the beach since there was less of a breeze at the house. We would suggest wearing insect repellent or lathering in coconut oil all the time in order to try to avoid the bites. The sneak up on you. Not sure if it's dependent on the time of year?? Overall we had a wonderful time! It was lovely, and we would definitely come back.

Thanks Cari. Yes, we found the spray works good as well a coconut oil ( local stuff you buy from road side vendors is best) but also to burn Mosquito coils around sitting area works really well. Was a pleasure having you and your crew as guests. Please come again. Welcome any time.

Nice area
Beautiful clean new home with all the amenities you'll need and then some. Bicycles were an added touch and we even had supplies to grill our steaks. Nicely located between Belize City and Placencia. Unless you plan on staying in the Stann Creek area you will need a vehicle. There are many areas to explore but the infrastructure is poorly maintained and manipulating some of the roads are doable but a challenge. Getting to a public beach is a problem in Belize and most Belizeans will be the first to tell you this. The beachfront is owned by private investors. We were constantly told to just cross private property but this is not something we were comfortable with. Many private properties were fenced and had security for this very reason. One of the downsides to this home is you had to trespass on privately owned property across the road to get to a beach. If you're fine with that we would definitely recommend this rental.

Comfortable and relaxing vacation home
The interior of this lovely house is nicely furnished and comfortable. However the nice Belizian breezes and partial view of the sea caused us to want to spend most of our stay on the wide veranda. Our four day stay passed far too quickly!

A vacation dream house!
The most vacation friendly house that we stayed in. The house is very spacious and well equipped and comfortable for two couples. The property manager and the owner were both very helpful. The swimming just across the road is awesome! All in all, the best place we stayed at in our three weeks in Belize.
