"Stayed here previously. Quiet room, comfy bed. Had our evening meal here, both had steak pie, very tasty and a bottle of red wine. Two bottles of water in room, plenty tea and coffee and one pack biscuits. We has booked breakfast the following morning, you pre-order the items the night before. We had a fruit yogurt and an actimel drink, orange juice. Tasty breakfast. We had toast and jam afterwards. Only downside was the filter coffee wasn't very strong."

"This hotel is in a great location and although a bit shabby now, was clean . The bed was not very comfortable and the bedding was compacted so somewhat heavy. Breakfast was good and tasty. Help yourself to tea or coffee but coffee not hot. Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming on arrival. We enjoyed a drink beside the river."

Lots of walkers and cyclists, good atmosphere, comfortable room, sensibly priced and conveniently located in this special part of the world. "Hotel and room were beautiful. Check-in clerk was friendly and welcoming. Location was completely charming, and the breakfast was very good. We were in suite 7, and therein lies the problem. An hour after checking in and prior to leaving for dinner we discovered our TV didn’t work. We mentioned it to the clerk who said she would have a look while we were out to dinner if that was OK with us. We gratefully agreed and left for dinner. When we returned, the TV still didn’t work and the front desk was closed. We decided it was not a huge deal, and turned in to sleep. That’s when we began to hear running water in the bathroom. I walked in to see water running from the light fixtures and cracks in the ceiling, which were also now sagging a bit. I found an emergency phone number on the internet and called it. The woman who answered seemed completely unbothered, stating that this was known to happen when the room above us takes showers. She apologized but said there was nothing that could be done for it. We asked to change rooms, but of course they were all booked and no staff was on location. We put towels down and dodged dirty upstairs shower water streams while trying to get to our own sink. The lady also told us she knew about our TV and believed the prior tenants must have broken it. All that being said, we still enjoyed our stay. If these issues got fixed, it would have been almost perfect. The area and the village of Bamburgh made up for the Inn’s shortcomings."
