My brother and I stayed at the Rock cabin for a few days to fish some local waterways. The property was very clean and well taken care of. It was stocked pretty well with cooking utensils and such and it was easy to find in town. Communication with the owner was prompt as well. Overall a great place, I would definitely stay again.
The Rock House is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and has everything needed to have a perfect stay! The owner, Jim, is very responsive and helpful. He suggested we look at visitgrandcounty.com prior to arrival and it really gives a good glimpse at what makes Grand County, Grand!! We sat in the kitchen, drinking coffee and watching it snow. 5 deer were in the yard, literally a few feet from the window!
The nights are spectacular! Dark sky heaven and so quiet! The WiFi was the best of all places we’ve stayed (my husband didn’t have to miss his basketball game!).
We spent hours soaking in Hot Sulphur Springs and enjoying the amazing food, company and drinks at The Dean Public House..both just a short walk from the house. I’m going to give this house 5 stars!! We truly loved it and will return!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely property, just as advertised. Didn't realize the area really caters to long weekenders. Lots of restaurants closed Mon/Tues, so hard to find anywhere to eat out. A good launching spot for any outdoor adventure.
In a weekend stay at the Rock House with a mid teens grandson and his friend who are obsessed with fishing our expectations were exceeded. The interior is modern, very well furnished and equipped and was very comfortable for the three of us. The host was very communicative and very helpful with suggestions for alternative activities, of which we took part in a hot soak at the hot springs very near by. The Colorado River was a 20 minute walk and yielded beautiful good size rainbows and brown trout. It's hard to imagine fishing that good such a short walk away from an in-town cabin. The house book provided by the host is very informative, with great information about the colorful history of the town. He communicates well and is very helpful in advising about local attractions. We'd love to return.
What a fantastic little gem of a spot! If you do not want to be in the woods but don't want to be in the city this is the absolute perfect location. The home is nestled in a little town in the mountains with beautiful views all around. Everything about the house was great and the pictures were accurate to a T. Getting a hold of the property owner was super simple but service is hit-and-miss in the mountains with travel so make sure to reach out earlier than later. Would absolutely recommend and we'll be back!
We love this place. The accommodations are very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with nice quality cooking ware and dishes, the bed is super comfortable and it is warm and cosy. We were there in very cold snowy weather and we were very comfortable watching the snow fall outside while we stayed warm inside. A colleague and I stayed there for a work related retreat, planning the entire schedule for the 2022-03 school year for a private performing arts high school in Boulder. Our twelve hour days were broken up with a soak in the hot springs only a few blocks a way. Jim, the owner was supper accommodating to our needs, especially when we locked ourselves out. I love this place and hope to return next year.

Quaint and Comfortable
If I could pick this house up and move it to the Texas coast I would! Super clean, very well stocked and cozy. We loved everything about the inside of this home. Great location for us because we were attending a wedding at a new venue up in the mountain called Tundra Springs. The home is very well stocked with towels, toiletries, kitchen supplies, blankets etc. The only thing we had to buy was groceries. Downside…outside the home were lots of tall weeds that we had to walk through just to get into the house. Jim is a very nice man but needs to be more attentive. We did not get our check in code for the front door until 4:15 which was stressful after a 13 hour drive. He did check in with us through the VRBO app to make sure we were able to get in and make sure everything was okay. I would also suggest that a ceiling fan be installed in the bedroom for the summer months. Know what to expect in the future regarding communication I would 100% stay at this home again.
If you’re looking for a secluded mountaintop neighborhood, this is your spot. No cell service and the only place to shop is a gas station grocery store combo. It was a great deal for a few days in the mountains.
Had some difficulty getting in using the digital lock, wish the check-in instructions had included the backup key box code so we didn’t waste an evening trying to get in.
Overall very nice property. Lots of cabin character and cozy for two. Had the impression based on pictures that it was located in the mountains and more secluded vs. being in a small neighborhood. Great location to travel to surrounding towns. Host was very responsive.
Memorial for previous Mayor of Hot Sulphur Springs, my brother, Bob.
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was once we stepped inside (don't judge a book by its cover). The door was a little difficult to close tightly enough to engage security. The refrigerator door would come open a lot and it looked like some previous visitors may have put some against it to keep it closed. we took everything off the door and that seemed to solve the problem. The only other issue was me being vertically challenged and not being able to reach cabinets or microwave, but was so glad there was a full length mirror in the bathroom. That's what I get for being a little old lady, but my sister and brother-in-law were with me. Ha! Ha! Mom was 5'2 and I took after her. We still had a great time.
Property was super clean and easy to get into. I was a little disappointed that there was no door on the bedroom and the only television was in the living room with a sleeper sofa. It was advertised as a one bedroom and I was looking for a place with separate sleeping spaces for my son and me. It could be easily remedied with a barn door or some thing across the bedroom opening. Other than that it's very nice clean new and well done
The house had everything we needed and more. Each the little wood details of the house was very special and nicely done. Perfect place for a getaway to the mountains. The little town didn't have much in the way of food, but it was close to Rocky Mountain State Park which was important to us.
Super clean, easy to access, efficient and timely communication with host! Amazing renovation to a 1930's home with great architecture and attention to detail. Comfortable with high-end updates. Outstanding location in a quiet and safe town. Totally recommend dinner at the Dean Public House and a drive on the Cottonwood Pass/CR 55 from Hot Sulphur Springs to Granby. We spent 11 nights here and it was a fabulous "base camp" for all of the things we wanted to do in the area.
The rock house was absolutely adorable, comfortable and perfect for a quick weekend getaway. We were less than a mile from the hot sulphur springs. The accommodations were wonderful. The bed comfortable. The linens were clean. Would highly recommend.
The Rockhouse was perfect for a getaway weekend to the mountains. We went skiing at winter park which is not too far away, and took a dip in the hot springs afterwards. Overall, we would definitely come back!
Such a beautiful place, thoughtfully renovated and decorated. Comfortable for two friends over a weekend. Close to lots of fun stuff like skiing and hot springs! Would definitely recommend.
Rustic meets modern. Perfect place for a couple to get away for a weekend. We enjoyed spending the evening by the fireplace and playing board games. Looking forward to booking again.
This charming place is full of history, as it has been owned by the same family since the 1940s. Absolutely top-notch amenities, and we loved the quiet community as well. Away from the hustle and bustle of Winter Park but still close enough to enjoy the many fun adventures in the area. The hot springs was a hoot! You will definitely enjoy this lovely spot!
